All these marksman buffs pretty much just shoved mages right on out of bot lane. Only difference is that we don't see any more "outrage" about it, nor do we see any "outrage" about marksmen dominating bot lane again. I guess no one really cared about bot lane diversity more than they cared about marksmen not being the strongest late game carries.

The only time botlane was diverse was the first week where nobody knew wtf was going on and picking anything worked. Then the meta just shifted from marksmen to mages/yas.
Of course this diversity wasnt really diversity, just replacing marksmen with cancer mages who either perma push with 0 risk or combine tankiness with burst. You can still play w/e works for you botlane because even if an adc is picked his impact can be shut down by an AP support alone, so.. why bother? Just pick vlad and heal everything and rush enemies while throwing AoE nukes and being untargetable.

At that time Lucian, Ezreal, Kai'Sa, Jhin, and the occasional Xayah were still viable picks in bot lane, along with mages and Yasuo. Now we're pretty much back to a trifecta of marksmen, that being Jhin, Varus, and apparently Ashe.
JackMcSnipeyz1 votesLucian (botrk + bc), ez (tear + trinity) and kai'sa (AP) were viable, 3 marksmen uneffected by the crit changes, Draven was also a good pick on skilled players because of his lane bullying nature.
Jhin was back after hail of blades and stormrazor got buffed. Varus and ashe are played in the LCS for the same reason they were always played - Marksmen are not a threat so the only 2 utility marksmen are picked for their engage - not their carry potential. Even then they are not a very contested pick aside from varus, because they are so easily locked down that they can only function with tahm kench babysitting them 24/7

Honestly, I don't even think it was the buffs to ADC's; they didn't even touch ADC laning phase. .-. They messed with their mid game and that's it. It was more likely the nerf to the support items. At least for the case of Yasuo; he did drop a lot in winrate for which is weird since he builds the same items as ADCs. It couldn't possibly be because he was abusing Targons and getting three pots, right? [sg-lulu]
But all of the same champions that were going bot before this patch are still in bot.
