Sooo... Veigar is now only going to be playable against non-mobilie AP mids?
I don't mind the Q becoming a skill-shot and all (assuming its speed is big enough for it not to be easily dodgeable because it has no CC), plus I can poke down while I farm with it.
But everything else... I have won lane twice vs Zed as Veigar in my whole life, and a few times against Yasuo too. But they will now steamroll almost guaranteedly over any Veigar. W is still dodgeable as hell, his E now has a huge delay and lets plenty of our insane mobility new champions just escape it and even his Q can now be dodged, to some extent that is still unknown. Not to mention his ult is 1/6th less dependant on him to increase the damage it deals.
I am by no means defending his E was balanced before, but it is literally Veigar's only CC, only peel, and his only hope to make a Zed or a Kata or a Yasuo stand still so his slow W can finally land. And all the immobile mages still lack the means to get out of Event Horizon, but against them, Veigar can still try to land a lucky W and deal decent damage with his R.
I don't think the right way to buff a champion who struggles so much against all these mobile assassins was making him extra vulnerable to any sort of mobility.
I don't know how his E can gain counterplay without being the end of the master of evil, but my suggestion would be to, at least, slow enemies that somehow end up inside it or forbidding enemies from using blinks/non MS-related mobility spells inside the cage.
All I have to say is, Veigar's only hope to even be relevant in a Blind Pick game, is that the enemy brings an immobile mage that uses mana against him, or that he can farm enough for his ult to be enough to bring down a Yasuo or a Zed, since there won't be a single chance you are landing your stun against a competent one, and therefor, landing any other ability.
