Ranked: Why am I always on the losing team 4 of 5 times?

Its a bit of a loaded question, one natural repose could be "you suck Kraythax and every team loses because of you" but I don't think that is the case. Sure there ARE games which I suck and I'm willing to say that with no reservations, I also eval what I could have done better and try to improve. However there are also games where I do great, I play Soraka and hold the lane, protect my ADC and they are far ahead in CS or I support them getting kills even when they are being bonkers crazy tower diving and taking risks. But in these games we can hold the tower, hold the lane, come out ahead and mid will collapse or top will collapse, the enemy will feed, snowball and it will be all she wrote.

Same for the jungle, I can have excellent clear, good counter jungle and be perfect with my CS and I roam into mid lane in my clear route, the mid lane is not pressed enough but I can toss in a backstab or attack to push the opponent out of lane then go on doing my clear because I am not tower diving at level 3. Problem is my mid laner goes all in, tower dives, dies then goes on tilt berating me for "WTF JG?????" Indeed if I were to believe the chat, every loss is always my fault in jungle. Top lane feeds urgot 5/0? Only because "jungler didt gank nub!" Mid lane dives and dies, "Nub jungler didn't help." ADC tower dives tanking tower and 2 champs and its "WTF raka no heal???"

So I would grant this will happen regularly and I'm ok with that. Learning is a process. The question is why 4 of 5 games am I on the losing team. Is something to do with matchmaking? Is there some magic mechanic that says put this guy with the worst possible players? You would think in a truly random system I would be relatively evenly balanced teaming with feeders and killers but it seems to me that isn't the case. Do I have to start a new account? Id rather not, I have bought a lot of champs with $ and don't want to start over.

So, I know asking this on the internet is roughly like wearing a target on your back and taking a stroll in a war zone but still, any constructive comments or ideas?

First off, you haven't played enough games. It could be you or it could just be bad luck. Less than 50 games is too small of a sample size.

Second, you need to be honest with yourself. Your jungle clears are far from perfect. I can easily double your cs per min in the jungle and I'm pretty horrible at this game. You can't improve if you don't have a realistic assessment of what you are doing wrong.

Third, your builds, summoner spells, and masteries are God awful. You go thunderlords on Soraka instead of windspeakers for example. You rush Mikaels instead of Ardent on Soraka and you never buy a sightstone or a vision ward. And you go teleport over flash. This is super basic stuff that is shooting you in the foot.

If you watch some high elo junglers and supports and literally copy everything that they do you'd probably double or triple your win rate. I recommend checking out the subreddits for the champions you play (sorakamains or shacomains for example.) They can point you in the direction of people you should copy.

(Your deity of choice from religion of choice) hates you. They have used their deity powers to condemn you to RANKED HELL! DUNDUNDUN! In ranked hell, regardless of your skill, you will always be matched with crap teams that will drag you down. Many times, even if you have the skills of uber pro LC$ you will still not be able to carry these games. You will be forever damned to crappy teammates that feed and rage and are horribly toxic. Some of these teammates may be people like Hitler, Genghis Khan, Pol Pott, Kim Jong Il, and other horrible people who have committed horrible crimes. For normal hell with the demons and the flames wasn't enough. They must spend eternity playing LoL stuck in the depths of Bronze. Using conventional methods you can NEVER ESCAPE and furoms will always say "git gud and carry harder noob"

To escape you must do cleansing and meditation rituals to help remove the negative energy and karma to one day please the deity that has condemned you and/or get the attention of mercy of another deity that will help you.

This is perhaps the only way to escape RANKED HELL! DUN DUN DUN!

It happened to me recently, it sucks. But just keep playing more games, it will balance itself out.

Here's three possible reasons why:

  1. Variance and small sample size have made the issue seem bigger than it is.
  2. You are actually to blame.
  3. You aren't good enough to carry teams when the rest of your teammates aren't playing well.

Nope. Totally agree with this guy. I spent many years studying this game, and it's completely demoralizing that no matter how much you learn and try in this game, 4 out of 5 games, you will have that one guy that will completely destroy your chances of victory. You will have the disconnect, the 0/10, or the players that won't listen to their team trying to help them not repeat mistakes. You queue up, and blindly put your preciously earned LP in the hands of potentially unreliable people. It's a gamble, people don't care, people don't want to care, not everyone has the same mindset, and there is nothing you can do about it. You can talk about it, but because there are the few rare unique players that manage to win 100% of their games to challenger, all you can be told it. "Get better, you suck."

There are three lanes. Lets say you are mid. You win your lane. Your bot lane has a 50% chance to win and your top lane has a 50% chance to win. That means in 75% of games you will have a losing lane. In 25% of games both other lanes lost. So lets say 75% of games are winnable. Professional players tend to have around a 60-70% winrate which will go well with the odds listed above.

But you also have to take into account that there are 5 players on each team, each with a 50% chance to win. That means the likelihood of your team losing is 1/24. It is just like how when you buy a lottery ticket. There are only two options to win or to lose. 2 options means 50%. So if you buy 2 lottery tickets you have a 75% chance to win. If you buy 5 lottery tickets you have a 0.4% chance of losing.

TLDR: The odds are in your favor. I would advise playing champs with more impact.
