Arbitrary post for upvotes about how Riot is [redacted]

Body stating no facts but just spitting at the balance team over and over without any context despite them trying to not make Season 8 happen again

This baffles me that these are everywhere. These boards have become the exact thing I disliked about the Reddit boards before but in the exact opposite way. The Reddit boards used to be totally full of themselves, believe League is the perfect game and think that it's the player's fault they aren't having fun in this game. Now the League Gameplay boards believes the game is nothing but a horrible mess and has become a lynch mob out for Riot's head. They don't even know what they'd do with it when they got it - not that they would, mind you. They're like dogs chasing cars.

Question: How do the people posting most of the stuff that gets upvoted here expect to get Riot to notice balance issues or examine opportunities - what Gameplay was always intended to be for - if all the upvoted posts just tell Riot they suck at their job in 100 different ways without any meaningful context? Answer: they don't! They're just trying to get back at Riot because they're OH SO salty about that game they lost that they just KNEW they would win! They're just taking it out on Riot like the big boys they are. They got their training diapers strapped on and they're good to go. Checked out and everything. Completely clean. Like, come on - what's the diaper even there for, right?

I'm not mad! Because I'm no longer reading the Gameplay boards! I was before I typed this, though. I got something important off my chest with this so that's nice.

Have a good one, y'all.

While I understand your use of satire and irony, we still don't tolerate language that doesn't adhere to our guidelines of facilitating civil discussions. Calling Riot "degenerate scum", even ironically, gives the wrong impression if an individual doesn't enter the thread, and just isn't acceptable, regardless.

If you have any questions about this action, we can discuss it further in the Discuss the Boards sub-board.

honestly i think [redacted] makes the post even better. it lets the reader insert whatever terrible insult they want.

You are pretty funny. Good job trying to be condescending and using irony to get your message across, even if your message is full of factual misleads, lack of research, and adding nothing other than your embarrassment.

Next time, show some more effort and do your homework.

I fucking love this. Every time someone makes a post addressing the board's issues people respond with the same "no u" response.

I am not following. Are you telling the boards to become reddit or blindly worship Riot for failing consecutively on things they have been told were toxic for the game?

He's telling boards that posting stuff like "riot u shitty company fix your game champion X is overbearing nerf or i quit and u suck riot" won't get them anything.

There are a lot of opinions from boards that are valid and could be listened to, but the problem is that most of the... boarders (?) prefers to shittalk riot and complain about their shittyness in threads instead of constructing valid points and ideas how said problems could be fixed.

Im sure most of you guys noticed that boards are abandoned by riot since idk, summer? And since summer 90% of the frontpage threads shit on Riot. This might be connected yknow.

Actually they have been telling Riot on how to fix them and Riot hasn't listened. This is why we are in the current state. That is why the post confuses me because I was roaming the boards for months and been looking at Riot make excuses for making changes people said were not good as well as not listening to ideas on how to fix those problems and other problems that existed before. And when they do finally listen, the damage was already done to an extent that people don't care that they actually did something because they didn't listen previously.

Doesn't matter if majority of people wants to shit on Riot. I saw some decent threads in the last months, but why should anyone from Riot search for them when most of threads are about shitting on Riot?

Honestly, Riot is being shat on because they deserve it. Just like gillette commercial is being shat on for obvious reasons. People get tired of the same excuses and same things over and over again.

They deserve it. It's no excuse for not making the game better. In fact, them not changing is making it worse.

If you think so, i can't argue.

Just you guys shouldn't expect any kind of communication from Riot here

Did you intentionally skim over the fact people have tried and failed to communicate with Riot while Riot ignored them or what?

You must defend this too:

Reddit is heavily moderated btw... that's why u only see nice stuff there.

it's like Communism over there.

Yeah, I've seen this. You can check my Boards History, I've made suggestions about this and that, the most recent being a Vayne rework. I posted it here and on Reddit. 99% of comments were on Reddit and guess what. A few people told me the idea sucks without explaining why. And one guy kept trying to derail the discussion from Vayne to champion X who is, in his opinion, a bigger problem. The only bit of constructive criticism I got was here, on the Boards.

When I suggested ideas to rework Summoner Spells everyone went on a damn tantrum as to how dare I not want a free, universal and unconditional gap closer in the game. You can disagree, that's fine. But maybe see that there's more than half a dozen other suggestions in there and comment on them Jeez...

When I made a suggestion about Zed there was a tantrum (yet again) that he's presumably already useless in high ELO and those changes would make him even more useless (at least this time they gave an actual argument, though, even if they made no suggestions of their own).

The list goes on...

TL;DR What incentive do I even have to try and work on a suggestion if all I'm met with is "you suck", "you're silver lmao", "who cares", etc. and insta-downvoted into oblivion so nobody even sees my post? What incentive does Riot have to fish for suggestions from us if all they see are memes and posts that directly attack, belittle and offend them and their Balance Team? Honestly at this point you should feel lucky they haven't stopped the Dev Corner posts. [sg-ahri-1]

....

They got their training diapers strapped on and they're good to go. Checked out and everything. Completely clean. Like, come on - what's the diaper even there for, right?

So, youre in a, lets say very small, bit of outrage about how people talk about the game and the balance team. Perhaps theyre being too hyperbolic, and you want what? For people to dial it back? Have more measured criticisms? Be more mature.... nope, cant be that... not after the diaper stuff.

See, insinuating that people you feel are "over the top" are clad in diapers is... well just another version of over the top "HERE take this THING I said about YOU, HA, how you like that!" hyperbolic rhetoric you just claimed you cant stand.

You dont like all the over the top topics bashing Riot or insulting their competence... dont do that thing you say others shouldnt do.

I know I know...

But its different cause I did it...

Lets try this...

Question: How do the people posting most of the stuff that gets upvoted here expect to get Riot to notice balance issues or examine opportunities - what Gameplay was always intended to be for - if all the upvoted posts just tell Riot they suck at their job in 100 different ways without any meaningful context?

Question: Do you expect to improve the discourse, or elevate the discussion by insulting people and suggesting they wear diapers?

Answer: I hope not.

If you were trying to make a topic about impoving the discussion, it didnt need to insult people.

You convince people to join your side/way of thinking by telling them whats good about it, not by telling them to stop being bad/dumb/stupid/etc.

So Ill agree with you that people could use the boards to have a deeper discussion with Riot about the game, and certainly wont get that by being abusive.

On the same note, youre not going to abate any of the behavior you think doesnt help by taking the mud out of someones hand only to throw it in their face...

Reddit- game is fine and balanced Boards- game is not fine and unbalanced

Makes me wonder who's actually right and wrong about this because it's literally an opinion. Not even riot can say how League is now since it could be what they wanted. A fast paced one shot fiesta game perhaps?

I mean, I can go ahead and say this instead: Reddit- brainless zombies who accept anything on whatever League becomes. Even if it's toxic.

Boarde- star wars rebels who believe they will fight this evil riot balance team and restore balance to league of legends.

Personally idc about the balance of this game anymore. Riot won't listen to anyone, Reddit or boards. Even well constructed and mature posts and critics are being ignored fyi. My big guess riot is Tencent's puppet now? Internet cafes don't look cheap so the poor Chinese players there do need as much matches as possible anyway.

It's toxic enough to take this game seriously so personally I'm playing Fortnite Save the world more often, and soon should be playing league just to collect enough BE to buy Sylas and try him out.

Honestly. I hate the Ten Cent argument. They Invested on Riot back in 2011. The years folks keep calling the best? That was ten cents years. Season 1 and 2 balance was … Less then stellar. Champion Design? Loads of problems.

But... It was fun, it was the first real evolution for mobas in for ever. Ability power. That was huge. Smooth movement! Fuck turn speeds. Runes + Masteries allowing pre game advantage and strategy? SPIKE, TIMMYS AND TAMMYS REJOICE! AP sion meta sucked. So Theres been a lot of un fun metas over the years. But they always shift and odd are they always will.

Anyhow odds are both boards and reddit are correct for the perceptions of the poster saying it.

Well I can't blame you if you hate that argument. But it sort of makes sense. But for your sake, I'll stop about that point.

Anyway, yeah the main thing is, people wanting old seasons back where even there wasn't much balanced. Was it better balanced than others? Sure. But not perfect because there were still problems. I read season 4 was the best and wanted to return...But wasn't that the season where Kassadin was literally free LP?

You really don't have to censor yourself for my sake. I don't mind if some one does not share my perception. If you can express an opposing view point convincingly I am fine with changing my opinion to reflect reality better. I'm undeniably Biased from playing in earlier seasons. My attitude back then however was shit. Took me a few years to get away from All-stars AGI hard carry pub stomping Mentality. I think a lot of Old kits needed to be removed and updated. I think a bunch still need modernization even if only for visuals.

Far as I can tell, theres a lot of folks who like each season. I expect theres going to be a few new players who only played season 8. I assume we will get new players in season 9. Every season has had problem champions and meh metas for some one.

True that. Season 7 was my best season because the amount of outplays I even lost count. Now I don't feel like I did anything so skill requiring because of the one shot fiestas.

Ah well. Right now I just need to see if I can collect enough BE to buy Sylas. For a meta like this, that champion is what we need.

imagine thinking this unironically omg.

Reddit complains about the balance just as much as the boards does, the only difference is the reddit moderation doesn't tolerate the levels of toxicity that are frequent on the boards.

Define "reddit moderation doesn't tolerate the levels of toxicity that are frequent on the boards." please.

Because i already know that reddit is as pissed as boards about balance and all, but are they going all "riot's balance team are iron 4!" resulting in getting their posts deleted?

I've watched posts get removed for being "rants" on the reddit and gotten my own posts for being "rants."

Just look at r/leagueofmeta

https://www.reddit.com/r/LeagueOfMeta/comments/ajjr6l/the_new_rakan_w_is_a_laughably_terrible_change/

removed for "Call to actions not being allowed"

https://www.reddit.com/r/LeagueOfMeta/comments/ajk813/my_first_ranked_game_of_season_2019/

removed for being a personal story under 1000 characters.

https://www.reddit.com/r/LeagueOfMeta/comments/aj1h8b/the_amount_of_damage_ap_champions_do_to_towers_is/

removed for being a repost (mods on The Boards^tm very rarely do this)

And that's all from just one short scroll on r/leagueofmeta

edit: it's not all for toxicity, but I think you get the picture. The subreddit mods a lot stricter.

Stricter? Seeing something that doesn't favor your own opinion and removing it is practically dictatorship (i think).

How is sharing your own experience not allowed?

...okay the 3rd one being a spam is reasonable enough.

I'm not supporting the r/lol moderation, just explaining why the reddit seems to love riot.
