Tanks with Infinite Damage Scaling are not Healthy

Right now, there are two tanks with infinite damage scaling in the game- Nasus and Cho'Gath.

The issue with Nasus is that his whole kit is gimped to let him stack, and as soon as he hits a 50+% winrate he gets smacked down by the nerfbat. It is not fun to play against a champion that pops off to be an unkillable split push monster consistently.

Cho'Gath, on the other hand, stacks health, which is convert to a true damage "execute" by his ultimate, easily netting him 1.5k hp executes in the mid/late game, regardless of target, by just popping Righteous Glory and Stoneplate, then pressing R.

Neither champion is fun to play against, and games revolve around shutting that champion down rather than solid macro and micro play. I don't understand why these playstyles are allowed to exist when Riot repeatedly guts and buffs the assassin class for being feast or famine when entire games revolve around camping one of these champions so they don't hit a ridiculous breaking point.

EDIT: I'm complaining about poor design, not that they are overpowered. Also, I'm not using the Riot class of tank, I'm talking about champions that build primarily defensive items, sorry for the confusion.

Inb4 Nasus isn't a tank.

Cho is a weird case, I feel like his synergy with Stoneplate is still too strong, if it reduced true damage he'd be in a better state.

I like that he's getting attention though, since he was forgotten before the update but I don't like 1k true damage targeted ults.

I think Nasus always had infinity damage scaling to begin with. Other champions like Veigar and Bard have infinite damage scaling as well. Nasus is also the weakest threat in the early game. In my experience alot of low elo players ban nasus. In low elo everyone bans him because they dont understand how his kit works. They just know that late game nasus destroys towers/enemies when he splitpushes freely. Most games revolve around teams wasting pressure time to lanes and it stalls the game really long. Most games also have all players pushing mid while top lane is usually ignored. These are probably the main reasons why you would lose games against nasus even if you get an early lead against him.

Nasus has low base armor and magic resist early game. So many champions counter Nasus since hes kitable. According to your match history you mostly play fiora, irelia, shen, renekton, and yorick, which have excellent harass abilities. You are overeacting maybe because you are roaming too much and not pushing you lane enough.

If an ability allowed nasus to have an extremely high reward then it would obviously had been very hard for nasus to easily stack those damages. Edit: He doesn't lose all stacks at death.

But, i do agree that Cho'gath is not a minor threat in most games. In the contrary of nasus, cho'gath has more utility in teamfights, is alot harder to take down and does not lose all feast stacks at death.

Nasus can be shut down in early game. If you deny Nasus for the first 10 minutes , he won't scale to do what you claim.

Playing Nasus against skilled players is stressful and a constant nail biter. You can't fight pre level 6. You can't duel without Sheen either. It's also really hard to farm vs certain champions which adds more stress, you're forced to use your E to try and zone them which will drain your mana fast. Everytime I play Nasus I usually get denied hard early, and with patience and after 6 with Sheen I can start to slowly take control of the lane.

If you make it through those first 6-12 minutes without going full blown tilt as Nasus, imo you deserve to scale. You deserve the reward. But with that being said, even if you do manage to scale and make a difference Nasus can't do much in team fights. Literally have to WALK up, because he has no gap closer. Wither the ADC or something that might threaten your ADC, pop ult and try to get Qs off and soak up as much damage and CCs before you die.

I never get super godly amount of stacks on Nasus because games never last long enough. I probably average 350-400 (300 at 20 min minimum) stacks a game before the game ends. IF it stretches past 30 minutes I might get like 600-700.

Nasus rework sounds interesting but I'd hate for him to lose his Q stacks, because that's his identity.

Several years ago, Riot talked about how they explored changes to Nasus that brought his Q in line but all the Nasus mains they talked to said they would rather have Nasus be weak and unreliable than lose his infinite stacking, and Riot respected their wishes.

Cho'Gath can only ult one person per fight. It's fine. Peel him.

I don't remember Nasus being much of a problem other than the fact that in lane poking him does nothing because of his passive. However in my last game Nasus was a big problem specifically when we were in a team fight where we got him really low then he ulted, but still had really low hp as Jhin I figured I could kill him with ease but when I hit him his health barely went down so I hit him again and he still wouldn't die. Then my whole team died and he got out alive, I don't remember Nasus's bonus armor from his ultimate being that significant. Thats the only thing I could think kept him alive since he didn't auto anyone during the fight.

Nasus might need a rework. I think he should feel like a powerful battle mage type jugg with his W and E. Maybe drop the Q stacking with a flat amount of damage. Just saying.

Cho should NEVER, EVER have HP scaling on his Ult. That shit if game breaking.
