Looking to Expand my Tanky Champ Pool

I am a Plat 5 player, I have the majority of the champions of the game, but I really can't find champs that I'm confident with in all the roles, specifically for ranked. The best champions for me are Gnar, Ziggs, and Lucian but I can't really find reliable bruisers/tanky supports that click with me, and with how crucially important tanky peel/cc are in this meta, I'd like some solid options to practice and then be able to take into ranked. If you have any questions or suggestions, please comment :) Thanks!

Tanky supports?

Try Taric Braum Leona Thresh Nautilus or Sion

Sion is very unconventional, but he works.

My main is Taric and I'm very biased towards him. He's old with a limited kit, but if you put the time into him I think you'll find that he has what you're looking for.

• His W passive gives a portion of your own armor to nearby allies, so as you build tank, your team benefits. • His E is hard CC that is VERY effective at peeling and preventing jungle ganks. • He fits in this meta more than any other because tank. However, he's not a top pick. (I did see him in a featured Diamond game day before yesterday though, so he may become more popular soon?)

I enjoy playing tanky characters and bruisers. I would recommend trying some of the following champions.

Support: Nautilus Leona Thresh Braum Taric

Top Laners: Nasus Irelia Mordekaiser Maokai Gnar

Most of them have pretty common build paths, but a few bear mentioning.

Taric I would recommend trying item 3401 item 3025 item 3190 for a good mix of durability, utility, and damage. You can match many top lane bruisers in a fight with these items later in the game. Just make sure to use autoattacks between abilities.

Gnar I tend to take item 3071 and item 3022 as my offensive items, with defensive items filling the remaining slows. These items give you a large amount of health, CDR, AD, Movement Speed, and an on-hit slow. These are great for chasing or kiting enemies and provide good utility (CDR, slow, armor reduction) for teamfights and dueling.

Mordekaiser I've been having decent luck with an AP Bruiser build rather than building straight AP. Typically, item 3020 item 3145 item 3068 item 3001 are my core items. Afterwards, item 3143 or item 3075 and item 3135 are common purchases.
