And so we come to the end of probably the worst season of League to date

And I'm pretty much just talking my own personal experience here but let's just run down all the things in order if I can remember them.

It started with Jarvan being super super strong for some reason that I can't fully remember and that meant he was perma banned or insta picked which means I almost never got to play him. To fix that, you both nerfed him, HARD and you simultaneously nerfed the items that had made him strong in the first place, basically taking him from s tier jungle to shit tier anything.

So unable to buy a win with my main, I just started spamming Garen. At least with Garen you can have a ball just smashing your face into the keyboard and screaming at the top of your lungs and running around like a mad man getting incredibly dizzy. So that was somewhat amusing. Then you brought in the Juggernauts. I didn't get to play Garen again for about 4 months and Jarvan was still trash.

He's still pretty bad now, truth be told, thanks for the pitiful 2 base armor you gave me back while I contend with fucking tryndemere criting me for a million damage at level 2 and healing back half his health bar, or Jax doing 7 billion aoe hybrid damage with his absurdly over powered rage blade. The 2 armor is really making a noticeable difference to my game play. It's very possible for me to go 8-0 off the start and still lose just because of how badly Jarvan scales with fucking anything, which you know, would be fine if it weren't for the fact that bullshit like Fiora and Jax and Tryndemere and a bajillion other things are out there who can get the items they need to reasonably outscale Jarvan in 15 minutes of average skill farming. Do you expect me to win in 15 minutes Riot?

And you give them all the tools they need to come back from the deficit that I put them in WHEN I can outplay them and I NEED to outplay them because Jarvan doesn't beat ANYBODY in a straight up damage contest. And even so, I have about 15 minutes to win the game before I have to rely on my team mates to carry.

My martial Cadence no longer damages through Jax' E anymore. Thanks for that. You fucking pricks.

Anyways, what's my rambling point here.

My point is, this has been a very shitty season. From one stupid boring rage inducing meta to another with multiple game breaking patches, none of them favoring Jarvan, the only thing in this dumb game that I still care about. Maybe this will be the year I finally kick this addiction. Maybe.

I was ok with warrior enchantment being op. Could go item 3157, charm them and let my tanks do the job. I was fine with cinderhulk being op. item 3116 and kite them for days. Runeglaive mid was stupidly broken but Ahri countersEzreal. I could still win games. Devourer was (and still is) a sad item to see on the enemy team but item 3116 item 3157 keep me alive. Juggernauts are disgusting and still completely unfun to play against. Thankfully Ahri has mobility. I could deal with all the mistakes they made in season 5, and I still enjoyed the game. But now, it's too much. Pre-season 6 is the worst time I've ever had playing League. Heavy nerfs to AP, heavy buffs to autoattack champions (much counterplay wow), some of Ahri 's hardest counters getting ridiculous buffs due to new masteries, no mana pots, no flask, no mana regen / base mana buffs for Ahri , what even is the point of playing an AP champion now? Honestly I'm also on the verge of quitting.

Oh man, I forgot about that stupid runeglaive bullshit.

Man, that was some grade A fuckin bullshit.

But you know what was worst of all? This was the third season in a row where their changes were primarily focused around the jungle for at least a good half of the season. For 3 seasons we junglers have been putting up with this shit.

At least they're spreading the shit a little more evenly across the bread for this shit sandwich. Now it just fucks EVERYbody.

Why are u mentioning Jax and Tryndamere in same context as previous season? Jax was completely dead for season 5 and Trynda only had minor success in low bronze. As for Garen, that sux, even tho people complain how OP some chaps are, people who are mostly hit are those who mained them before they were OP, since they didnt have chance to play them much. As for J4, i dunno why u complain, he was still pretty strong and had high winrate throughout season V, I played him once or twice and had success with him. Also, wasnt he used and owned during worlds as jungler?

actually, for quite a bit of season five jungle jax could roam on a rampage (though not commonly played due to a lack of range)

he had easy clears and a kit that synergized well with devourer

if anything, season 6 will probably kill him because the games are ALL lasting 20 minutes unless you pick a tank champion, like Graves, who coincidentally also has the highest possible crit damage at the moment (350 + % with infinity edge) as well as he is both a utility champ in lane and a burst champ

ah, reminds me of release ekko...how do they not balance these numbers XD with only 200 AD Graves can clear an entire minion wave with his Q yet former lane bully Miss Fortune can't even last hit with hers anymore unless dead on time

He was used by Bengi. That doesn't count. Bengi could have gone afk to take a shit in the middle of the game and skt still would have won.

He did not have high win rates. He had sub 50% win rates for most of the season. I mention Jax and Trynd because it is the 5.22 patch. That is still this season. None of the mastery changes really do anything for Jarvan. He's not an auto attacker, he's an ad caster. He's not a tank, he's an initiator. He's very mana hungry with very low base mana stats, doesn't really need any of the things that the keystones give and uses all of them worse than other champions.

What's worse, is that ever since his base stats were gutted, Jarvan's biggest strength has always been his adaptability. He's not really exceptional at anything, but with different items, he can fill a role that you need given the situation. The entire concept of the keystone masteries runs counter intuitive to that. By selecting a keystone, you are declaring before the game even starts what you intend to build.

Now, they might role out a whole ton of changes for next season which address some of these issues, I can only assume that SOME changes will occur, because the state of the game right now is frankly laughable. They have admitted as much, but that won't change the fact that THIS season has been the worst so far.

I will forever remember S5 for the fall of Fiddlesticks jungle, Devourer, Ekko and Bard's releases, the Juggernauts, and the season that brought me Tahm, as I had been struggling with my other main (Vel'Koz) in a League of Hyper-Mobile-Late-Game Carries-Whose-Early-Game-Still-Pretty-Strong. Now I have like 150k and 400-500 games on him.

The preseason irks me with buffing ADCS (who just click on people to do their damage) and gutting most mages to the ground (who often require skill, timing, and proper resource management). And Tanks are in a strange camp where they become feast or famine- you can do well lategame if you don't feed but you will never be able to withstand an ADC if you gave up a few kills early. Fuck the ADC meta.

mundo smash! lol, even if slightly behind, mundo's ult and tank stats are still top tier because he fell off during the previous tank meta when mages and pseudo mages were strong

the sad thing is, I sense nerfs incoming for one of league's longest standing champions without them...he was even buffed recently only just barely

it's hilarious though when 3/5 or more can engage on a mundo and so long as he hits his ultimate, he can run away, leaving them going "wtf?"

lol, in a bot match, I actually had someone comment against the opposing mundo, "what is mundo?!" because if you didn't outright kill him, you weren't going to

One day. One day my dream will come true. Champions will be reworked to have the skill needs of Lee Sin and Shaco. One day the game will be based on mechanics, not statistics. One day people will be ranked on their ability, not their decisions for champions, team comps, or items. One day, we will the the Season of Skill. Eventually.
