im too busy still laughing about the ghostcrawler hire

LeMemeBoy··11 votes·1,201 views

dude literally has a rep of destroying balance in wow pvp when he was head developer there.(he claims to have not had a hand in pvp, but dude literally balanced class mechanics. he WAS pvp.)

go to wow forums and mention his name. i bet he'll still be vilified for past wrongs he did to wow. dude absolutely RUINED pvp. he also had a rep for having a soft spot for mages since he played one, and went heavy on the buffs, light on the nerfs for them. to the point where two of their three specializations (fire and arcane)were top 5 dps pve, and frost was absolutely crazy in pvp for anyone that wasn't a paladin, warlock, or rogue.

so, what does riot do when this guy is ousted from blizzard like the vermin he is? hire him!

guess what? guess how long ago ghostcrawler was hired? end of season 3(arguably the best season next to 2), 3 years ago.

lets list all of the shitty things that went down under his expert watch

juggernauts were release(retardedly broken at first of course)

mages went from being a pseudocarry class to an all out full on load on your face from level 2.

assassins no longer exist because everyone does their job better than them

games more often than not don't make it past the 25 minute mark thanks to tower FB and clown fiesta bot shenanigans.

Ghostcrawler please

stop fucking ruining my favorite games with your bullshit garbage ideas.

it was still awful, sorry to burst your bubble but WoW was never that good. It's like those who say that runescape was a good game it wasn't. They did something decent before a lot of people which got them pretty famous and a good playerbase that a lot of games dream of getting but then people started finding out how boring and shallow they were and how much better the competition was.

the competition was better? the only game that came close to as good as wow in its heyday was Guild Wars. and that STILL didnt have anywhere near the playerbase of wow then, or even now.

KOTOR? f2p now DCUO? f2p now D&D online? f2p ESO? F2p now

there's only 3 big title mmo's that still require subs FFXI, FFXIV, and wow.

both xi and xiv were/are considered the next best thing to wow.

they still never came anywhere near close to the greatness that was classic and bc wow.

you can suck WoWs dick all day if you want. It was still an overrated garbage game that people are leaving in strides every single time. You want to know something about those F2P games? they make more money than the subscription based ones. Sorry but WoW's fame is long gone and now it's nothing more than something people play out of curiosity. There is literally nothing about the game that looks appealing in the slightest and i have played garbage MMOs and still wouldn't touch WoW even if someone gave me an entire year subscription along with the best PC currently available. That's how not interesting i find WoW and pretty much everyone that i know

Oh man Guild Wars was crazy fun, I miss it a lot. Guild Wars 2 is absolute dog shit.

Oh, I remember old school wow-pvp.

How everyone congregated in Southshore and Taren Mill because there were no battle grounds, making a 20-28 level zone a death march for anyone actually trying to level up their characters and complete quests there. I got really good at resurrecting in unusual areas, so many people would kill you and sit on your corpse waiting to camp, but they rare expected you to respawn under water!

Then my warlock got higher level and I got to experience the joys of having bags of soulshards if I wanted to do any pvp ever. Go out and farm for 2 hours so you can actually use your abilities. Even then Warlocks were just about the worst at everything, pop on all your DoTs, spam fear, and hope that the enemy doesn't resist too often.

I remember how Warriors with Arcanite Reapers were gods on earth, how Shaman would run in circles spamming their 3 shock abilities (which did not share cooldowns as of yet), how mages were known only for POM/Pyro, and how Paladins had 3 health bars (but still couldn't win because they did no damage).

Don't get me wrong, I really liked WoW in those early days. It was one of the most immersive experiences I have ever had. But to harp on early WoW as having amazing pvp balance, I just don't see how anyone who was there can actually think that.

You know what GC did though? He made the classes fun and interesting to play, rather than the 2-button borefests we have now (and the non-cohesive button mashing fests we had in Vanilla and BC). Game was better under him, whether or not you want to admit it. You're just upset that you can't one shot people with your Rogue.

And now that GC left, we have the most boring classes I've ever seen in an MMO, as well as terrible class balance in all content types.

disc priest here, kiddo.

first off, mages had like 3 buttons for pve. like 10 for pvp including trinket

also, you have the most boring classes you've ever seen in an mmo because spoiler that's what happens to mmos.

its a wonder the game has managed to keep its sub count high enough to justify having subs.

blizzard north is what made the warcraft games/wow great. NOT ghostcrawler.

GC just had the benefit of being hired on at the perfect time when the wow hype was never higher.

and now he's going to get jobs forever ruining my favorite games.

also, i bet you think wotlk was the best expansion.

absolutely disgusting.

They had 3 buttons if you were lazy and bad. A good Mage would use 8-10ish, though Arcane was 3. Every other class had what, 15-20?

No, that's not what happens to MMOs, that's what happens to MMOs that cater to the lowest common denominator.

blizzard north is what made the warcraft games/wow great. NOT ghostcrawler.

Activision bought out Blizzard in 2006 (two years before WOTLK came out). WoW was never run by Blizzard North for more than just Vanilla.

Wrath was one of my favorites, but I don't think there's any individual "best" expansion. I think the whole era from Wrath to MoP was the best (and then WoD came and killed the game). Vanilla and BC were too clunky, and WoD was too simplistic. Legion is better, but still too simplistic. I still play to get that raiding itch though.

LOL WRATH TO MOP WAS BEST YOU SAY?

hahaha yeah now i know you're trolling.

cata was a hot pile of trash that managed to lose 6 million subs.

mop brought 2 million of those subs back, and lost 4 million by the time Siege of Orgrimmar came out.

if you say anything other than classic or bc was the best of wow, you're a casual scrub who wants raid content handed to you.

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

Newsflash bud, you aren't the end-all of videogame quality.

If he enjoys that expansion than let him. There is no need for you yo talk down to someone just becuase they don't share your interests in gaming.

Everyone is different, and wants different things from their games. The newer expansions didn't offer what you wanted, that is all. No need to act superior.

Niyumi1 votes

Oh sure, the content was a bit easy, but the storytelling, artwork, gameplay, immersion and all that was at its peak. The game was fun, even if it was easy, and I actually enjoyed playing it to the exclusion of everything else. Then WoD hit, and I quit WoW for almost two years. The game still isn't as good as it used to be, but it's a lot of nostalgia -- I grew up on that WoW. And no other game does raiding as well as WoW does, even if it's getting a bit easier now.

In Vanilla, the game was clunky as all hell and had a lot of issues. Some classes were brought along just to be buff bots, and you had ranks 1 - 5 on your bar of one spell and all that. BC fixed a few things, but it was still the same as Vanilla in a lot of regards. Wrath made the game fun, and the combat smooth and engaging, rather than tedious. World PvP started to die off, but then very few people could even enjoy world PvP in the first place, so it wasn't missed by many.

Sorry you don't like it when they lose artificial challenge created by tedious, non-flowing combat. Sure, the content could stand to be a bit tougher, but it's still fun.

"Blizzard north" was the division that made diablo 2.

they were promptly fired after they created diablo 2. the last patch in diablo that was under any control by blizzard north was 1.09.

after that half of them went to torchlight, and half kinda just disappeared.

blizzard north never had any interaction with WoW at all.

  1. Pretty sure GC mained Holy Priest

  2. Season 9 cheese was Ferals. Season 10 cheese was locks/mages. Season 11 cheese was legendary rogues and Cunning cleave.

Nothing you say is either correct or relevant.
