Damage, why it is too high and how to go about fixing it
The damage in this game is undeniably high,right now Go watch a team fight from season 3 and one now and you can see for yourself the difference between the two. So how did we get to this point? Theres actually a fair amount of reasons, some more major than others but they all have contributed. here we go from order of least to most impact:
4)Overabundance in CDR Yes, more CDR means smaller cooldowns, which means more ability spam which means more damage. And yes CDR is overabundant, I remember Capping CDr was only mandatory for certain champions that needed it , like Nasus for Q farm, Riven for constant mobility and durability with shield spam, Zilean for Ult spam and stuns, etc. So you had this handful of champions going out of their way to cap CDR, and everyone else getting mostly 0-20% max. Well now that CDR has been made so easily accessible and put in every item, pretty much everyone caps CDR, and they feel like" I like it but i dont really need it, but the items that I buy happen to freely give CDR too so why not".

Cost Effectiveness of Defensive items going down When the defenses you get from an item become fewer, then the damage that you will receive becomes higher. Since season 5, EVERY SINGLE ITEM that had a defensive stat on it has been nerfed, mostly resistances lowered or cost increased, in most cases both. THIS contributes tot he damage creep,YES indirectly but still YES.

Lethality/armor Pen This one is quite recent, but when every AD champion starts building items for assassins that aint good. Remember when RIven used to build stuff like Hydra and bloodthirster? or when everyone built zed with Bork,ghostblade,LW, bloodthirster GA?or when MF built crit? I do . good times. I talked about how nerfs to defensive items made tanks (mostly) squishier? well, lethality made squishies, even squishier, Because zed had to land triple shuriken to kill, or when riven had to combo before executing, now has gone to zed can E+ auto for ult to kill, and riven has to W+auto for ult to kill.

The season 6 mastery system/ Keystone masteries This is the biggest offender of them all, and it did the most damage to the game. When you balance Morgana's W to deal X amount of dmg, but you then allow her to deal a bonus 80dmg like 90% of the time for no reason, or when ADCs and bruisers get all that bonus damage from fervor that just wasnt there before, or Brand's passive does essentially double damage with DFT you are putting damage into the game for free. And that has resulted into the game state that we have now.
So you are gonna have to lookat tose issues to solve them and make the fights last llonger and the game less snowball oriented=/more fun to watch and play.
