How do you itemize against Lucian?

So of all ADC I have only had problems with 2 of them: Lucian and Vayne.

Everyone else I just respect their damage when fed and understand defensive items it's how you beat them.

But when facing Lucian?

I built HP, he builds BoTrk I build armor, he gets Black Cleaver I build damage, RFC+ Infinity and he melts squishies in seconds.

Like no joke, this guy is a duelist, not a markman and I understand his range is insanely low, but I always have trouble when playing against a good one regardless of me playing jg, support or ADC.

I normally just go online and search for tips before I play a champ or against a champ. For Lucian, here's what I find useful (to name a few) and where I got the information:

  1. Early game, Lightslinger grants Lucian a lot of trading potential. Try to avoid getting hit when he has the effect ready.
  2. Dodging Piercing Light during the 0.35-second delay, with fast reactions or an ability like Tumble, is a good way to lower Lucian's damage output.
  3. Also, try to not stand in a line with allied minions and Lucian, as it denies him every chance to line up a shot.
  4. Be careful when you are hit by Ardent Blaze. While affected by the ability's mark, Lucian can easily engage with its bonus movement speed.

For me, what I do is play the champ to learn their mechanics and strengths. That way when I face an opponent using said champ I have a better idea of what I need to do to outplay or keep them from getting fed.

It seems that you don't necessarily lane against Lucian which means that your ADC & Support need to work toward denying Lucian farm and kills. You too can also up the pressure on that lane as a JG but you don't want to neglect other opportunities because you're afraid of Lucian getting too OP for you. A good team and communication go a long way.

I'm not saying that the below websites offer anything that you don't already know. But they do help when coming up with a strategy. I always say that playing a champion and learning their moves and weaknesses is the best way to go. Best of luck.

play ezreal, build ibg, and watch him cry

You get Ninja Tabis because all of his passive attacks are auto attacks that will further get reduced by the passive. Besides that you will just need to make sure not to waste any crucial spells while he could dash into you. If you want to fight him you best trry to coordinate with your support and be ready to jump on him the moment he tries to aggress, given that you have everything up.

You can't itemize against all of adc They are dps damage dealers , that's how they work , that's their role , the best you can do is Tabi

I don't think Lucian should be allowed in the game atm. Just ban him. I do pretty much every game.

Stats say he's busted, and I'm inclined to agree. I hate playing against him when he's balanced, so I sure as hell don't want to play against him right now.

Fun fact:

Lucian was created to be a dualist, which is why they nerfed his kit into the ground.

Second shot from his passive used to count as a basic attack W used to scale with AD E used to remove soft CC E used to have CDR that scalled down with kills R used to have a projectile count that increased based on his attack speed

I miss the variety of Lucian's itemization but I guess those changes were necessary. I haven't touched him in a while so I wonder if they reverted some of those removals?

Anywho, when it comes to building against him...You just kinda have to do what you usually do. Items aren't supposed to be the end-all against a champion; they just make things easier. It's all about how you play against them.

Ban him.

Lucian is grossly over-tuned right now and there's no nerfs in sight.

Like everyone else has already said, item 3047 is one of the most effective items against him. However, there are also some more specific items you can build depending on your role.

If you're a Bruiser/Juggernaut/Diver, build item 3053

If you're a Tank, build item 3075 or item 3143 depending on how many Crit users are on the enemy team.

If you're an AP character like a Mage, build item 3157

If you're an (AD) Assassin or ADC, buy item 3026

But generally, you should buy item 3047 no matter who you're playing as.
