Why does Taric still have adaptive AP and not AD?

His passive literally doubles his attack speed and all he wants to do is auto people. His heal only has 40% AP scaling (with 2 charges which is most common) and stun has 50%. Taric will generally auto attack 8 times between stun cooldowns. That means his stun deals 7.5 more damage with adaptive AP and autos deal 72 more damage with adaptive AD if chrysalis is the source.

What does Taric build in top lane and jungle for damage items?

The only AP item I ever consider getting on Taric is just because the sheer amount of mana sustain it provides. The extra 100 health on his heal is just an added bonus that I really don't care about that much in comparison to the ~2400 effective mana.

Those items should give a clear indication of what Taric players want when they get adaptive stats from runes. Leona had hers changed to AD. I think it is time Taric had his switched too.

This has nothing to do with scalings. It is about how adaptive stats are supposed to default to the better stat for your champion until you build either AD or AP. The better stat for Taric is obviously AD but they don't change it. They have already shown that they are willing to change it because they changed Leona's. You can bring up your point once Ashe is given 25 useless AP at the start of the game instead of 15 AD.

Isnt it supposed to default change to what ever you did more damage with Physical damage changes it to ad, Magic damage changes it to ap.

Your damage type is irrelevant. Riot has a default adaptive bonus on every champion which cannot be changed until they build either bonus AD or AP. I once had a game where I built item 3053 item 3025 item 1416 and I was still getting useless AP because I hadn't built any bonus AD. It is honestly a meme that Riot thinks Taric gets more value from AP than he does from AD.

I just remembered something like that when riot introduced adaptive scaling. i havent read much patch notes since some time during worlds season 7 because i play less (though still every day or almost every day multiple times) but my champions are just feel bad and irrelivant because they get one shot from ranged carries but if anyone does it to them they cry and riot changes it with hot fix nerfs

He is ad. His passive changes bonus HP to AD.

They don't need scalings changed as that would break them in top and jungle. All I want is for Taric's default adaptive stat to be changed to AD like Leona's was recently.

thresh works ad but his passive and all his scaling except for his e passive is ap (and even that scales with his souls which give ap)

Volibear support works very much so! I decided to pick him up in support after looking at his kit before his buffs a while ago and it's been a really fun time in fair matchups. He works more like a "Give an inch and he'll flip you a mile back" type of champ his level 2 is one of the strongest points in the early game because if you get W first and rush for level 2 before your opponents you can flash q onto them which either forces them to flash in return or fight back and at that point you can W and ignite them to kill them or force heal. Just this quick combo at reaching level 2 is amazing because

It forces summoners out early with flash being relatively the same time and possibly heal which is on a longer CD than ignite is. And
Is that his passive allows him to have a safety net should this engagement not go all the way as planned.

Yeah, Voli support can work if you get the chance to counter-pick with him. But if you get counter-picked, your life can be pretty hellish.

From the amount of games I've played on him the only true counters are of course the annoying mages Brand/Zyra, Morgana/Janna since they offer an entire kit that stops his, and finally a few tank supports like Ali and Leona due to their better CC burst.

Why would you play Taric top/jg? Everything he can do, other top/jg champs do better... besides of course HEALING AND SHIELDING A NEARBY TEAMMATE HENCE WHY HE'S EXCLUSIVELY PLAYED SUPPORT BY ALL SENSIBLE HUMAN BEINGS. Jesus christ why do you want him to be balanced around Top/JG, his kit in no way favors that playstyle even kinda. You're the type of person that tilts your team into giving up during champ select because you pick something fucking stupid.
