Blue essence questions

Is it just me, or has "IP" been harder to earn? I used to able to make around 1k IP per day, but now, I'm lucky if I can get that much in a week. Currently, from the capsules, I've gotten only 450 IP champions, and I got Rengar once... Obviously, 96 blue essence is not very much. Approx. 300 blue essence for tens of hours of grinding... Now, I'm not too active on forums or league news, so could anyone let me know if there's a faster way of getting blue essence? I'm 99.9% sure that I'm missing something, as I find it extremely difficult to believe that getting blue essence is harder than lifting my GPA. I know about the honour capsules, but those happen around once per month, and the amount of essence they provide is nowhere near enough.

BE gains are on average higher than before.

Minimum BE gain per level is 810 and you got a Rengar shard from at least one of your level-ups, so the minimum possible BE you could have gained would be 2,580.

Given the lengths of your play sessions, it appears that you're simply mistaken about how much IP you were gaining before. 2-4 games would be like 450 IP and your long days of 10+ games seem to occur pretty infrequently.

This makes much more sense, thanks for clarifying. I guess I'm getting impatient for my essence :D
