New champion, .. same community

With the release of Senna on the PBE, and the gameplay content hitting YouTube, .. I am once again reminded that the community just loves to put out the damage.

It really doesn't matter that Senna is a SUPPORT / marksmen, every video is of her being played as a marksmen, prioritizing damage over her support utilities.

She has AP ratios on her heal and shield, Q and R respectively, as well as the damage portion of her R.

Yes, her sustained damage would suffer, .. but she's a support!

I would think that the range of her basic attacks and abilities, which increase with her passive, would allow for efficient harassment, which means she can still effectively deal damage as a support.

In fact, I think with the stronger heals that she gets from Q from AP scaling, would mean poking with a Q will ultimately lead in her GAINING health during a trade, ... and that is assuming the enemy is even able to trade back!

I don't care if it isn't AS GOOD, .. someone needs to at least try it!

And I do understand that it is the first day, and most likely there will be a few videos that will trickle out tomorrow, if not over the next few weeks, .. but it's frustrating.

Every single YouTube video is the same shit over and over. We get it, she's a marksmen, .. even as a support she deals damage like a marksmen.

What I'm interested in knowing is, can she provide utility like a support.

Otherwise, Riot (talking to you now) ... all you have done is make a champion that players that hate being a support can play when they get auto-filled.

Lastly, if you have made or have seen some YouTube videos of her being built AP, or tank, or something uncommon (English please) feel free to link them here. I would be happy to give these content creators some additional views because they deserve it.

I do not know if you consider this uncommon but bunnyfufuu has a senna video where he stomped the lane by essentially playing like pyke and morgana(hitting the Ws to root someone so the lucian can come in then executed them with her Q. Also has him use the E to save his lucian and himself from getting killed under enemy turret)

Yeah, that's at least better. At least this way she could have some interesting plays with her team and not just and outplay the enemy. Most people are literally just playing her as an ADC that doesn't farm AS MUCH (most of the ones I've seen are still taking cs)

"Oh look! If I buy item 3147 item 3031 on this support, I can one-shot everyone!"

I still want to see someone build AP and have massive heals and shields for herself and her allies.

I think phage items and AS would be better on her. She gains movement speed from attacking and from her E. So having like phage and that one slow AP item would probably make it really easy for her to kite or chase down enemies.

Also if she gets 100% crit then her following crit passive boosts become lifesteal instead.

think another good item is probably ardent since it will help her get around her low AS.

But it works when you heal allies, ... which means you can use Q to attack an enemy that is in line with your allies, or you can just use it to heal your allies and then immediately use the attack speed buff to target enemies, reducing the cooldown. The sooner you get Q back up, the sooner you can apply another heal to your allies (regaining the buff,) or damage the enemy, ... or both..

They also mentioned Rylai's item 3116 . If you have Font of Life, you will actually trigger Ardent off of it

So how does ardent help sennas low attack speed? It doesn’t. Because ardent doesn’t work on self heals. That’s all I was saying.

Her Q heals allies if it passes through them. Her R also shields allies. Both healing and shielding allies triggers bonus attack speed from Ardent Censor, for BOTH Senna, and the allies healed or shielded.

Otherwise, if she has Font of life and she impairs the movement of an enemy champion, .. for example with W, .. or if she has Rylai's Crystal Scepter and applies spell effects from Q or R, then an enemy attacks that target with a basic attack, Font of Life will heal them, ... which triggers Ardent Censor.

Relevant bit. Unique: Heals and shields on allied champions enhance you and them with Frenzy for 6 seconds. Frenzy: Grants 10% − 30% (based on target's level) bonus attack speed. You can check the item description on the boards if you want, which uses You and your ally.

August said AP isn't a good thing to go on her. You want to go lethality if you're ahead, support items if you're behind, but you always want IE on her either way. Mortal Reminder is also, apparently, really good on her

IE doesn't feel that great on her I'd take a defensive item over it any day after I built my two lethality items.

I forget why its good on her. I think it works well with her passive, not sure. I can always ask him since I think he's streaming tonight.

Her crits only do 130% damage and IE bumps that up to 146.25% and any extra crit from the item is turned into life steal. He may favor that extra damage but I'd rather survive a fight or have some utility.

That may be true, ... but most of the content creators I've seen on YouTube are simply SAYING that she wouldn't be good with AP based on her ratios BECAUSE it doesn't offer AS MUCH DAMAGE. I honestly don't think they are even trying it for themselves. Maybe August has, .. I don't honestly know who August is, tbh.

This isn't just an issue for Senna. It has been true with so many of the more recent champions. People don't really use the PBE as a testing ground in the sense that they can find out what works and what doesn't. They are just looking for click-bait content.

First Senna gameplay with 25/0/10!

Yeah, you're (referring to content creators) on the PBE, playing a new champion. Their kit is most likely overloaded and people don't know how to play against them. You're also a essentially a professional player, against people that are casual players and trying to connect to the PBE from around the world. ...

While that is certainly more valid, .. I still want to see gameplay.

I would try it out for myself, .. but playing League of Legends isn't LITERALLY HOW I MAKE MONEY lol. I simply don't have time to try and fight with people that will auto lock in Blind matches or will ban her in Draft, ... then the dodgers ..

Then trying something other than full damage results in flame .. ugh, .. I'm already exhausted.

Further, I would think that the person that designed the champion would want people to test unusual items for unintended bugs. What happens when Senna builds Liandry's and Sunfire, and some coding bug causes her to one-shot everything while in wraith form? ... If something like that happened, it should be caught before she goes live.

Can't you rewatch previous streams on Twitch? He was playing her last night showing us how she works as ADC and support in custom games on PBE. He was even playing with community members in the stream. You can even see me on his friends list trying to get invited.

And no because they tested all that in internal testing. They already know what works and what doesn't.
