No, Taric doesn't need buffs

Dokkaebi··5 votes·490 views

I've seen sooo many people ignoring Taric's win rate and overall performance and arguing that he needs buffs to his mana pool.

Mana is there to balance things out. If you don't like having to mana control, go play champions without a mana bar.

Taric is allowed to have such a powerful kit ONLY because his mana is limited. Buffing his mana pool would remove one of his only weaknesses and would make him absurdly strong.

He's an engager, not a backline ''healer bot'' who stays behind his carries and just spams shields and heals. Things would be different if he was a pure enchanter, but he's not.

People don't quite understand how powerful his kit would be if he could spam it freely.

EDIT: I knew people want to be cool and edgy, and would jump on the downvote bandwagon but I'm glad Riot isn't stupid and can think, knowing that buffing him would be absolutely ___.

I've never seen Taric as much of an engager. More of a peeler.

Blitz is not a peeler....

Dokkaebi1 votes

Yes, he is. He peels by setting up kills and tanking for his backline.

Leona: bitch what?

Leona goes balls deep all in. Peeling isn't for women like her.

Dokkaebi1 votes

Leona cc locks her enemies and tanks damage for her backline. That's literally peeling.

Ralanr3 votes

Yeah sure, but she's not primarily going to peel. She's more built to engage a teamfight.

CC can rarely be used for just peeling or engaging. A vanguard can peel just as a Warden can engage, but they are better designed for their respective roles.

Taric is more of a peeler because he can protect his adc by stunning the guy on top of him while Taric is somewhere else due to how his link works. His kit works much better defensively (but can be used offensively).

Leona can stop her enemies from engaging, but she's much better at picking out targets for an engage.

You're right on that one.

No. Soraka isnt peeler. She is healer. Sona isnt peeler, she is bully/engager/healer. Then u have mage supports like Zyra, BRand, Morgana, Malzahar who act as lane bullies in lane and engagers in teamfights.

Dokkaebi1 votes

I don't know what you believe peeling means, but CCing your enemy and harassing them away from your backline is peeling.

EDIT: Just like healing and shielding.

Ralanr2 votes

So...CCing your enemy while engaging is peeling?

Just keeping them away from your backline is peeling.

Dokkaebi1 votes

Any type of CC is. You're correct.

Ralanr1 votes

So...if I as Sion am hitting an enemy with my ult with none of my allies around, who am I peeling?

Dokkaebi1 votes

Nobody, but if there is a dmg carry near to you, you're peeling for them.

Ralanr3 votes

That's just it, I'm not peeling, I'm engaging. Peeling is when you're using your CC defensively, engaging is offensive use of CC.

Just using CC doesn't automatically mean you're doing X. It's how you use your CC.

Dokkaebi1 votes

Ok, well apparently I was wrong on that one. I admit it.

But most of the time you engage in a team fight. Always in team fights the enemy wants to kill your backline. It's technically almost always peeling, unless the enemy just wants to get away and has no interest in fighting.

Ralanr1 votes

Well if you want to get technical, I'd argue it depends on who started the fight and the intentions of the player.

''The simplest way to peel for a champion is by dealing damage to the enemy. By either killing him before he reaches his target or by forcing him to turn around, you effectively avoid all his damage.''

I found this

Thats for self peeling.

Dokkaebi1 votes

''killing him before he reaches his target''

if he's trying to kill your backline and you kill him first, that's not self-peeling

So Soraka should attack Yi to stop him from killing Miss Fortune? That would be most effective peel?

Peeling supports are those supports whose jobs is to keep divers and assassins away from your backline. Janna, Nami , Braum, Tahm, Nautilus.

That's the job of every support...

Not really. Morgana support should ulti and Zhonyas. Brand support goes for damage. Leona goes balls deep in to apply her passive to as many targets as possible. Fiddle support goes in with ulti to do damage. Soraka needs peeling herself.

What powerful kit?

The only real powerfull spell is his Ultimate. His stun is meh at best, long CD, long cast time and easy to avoid, his Heal is a joke on a 45s CD, His Shield sucks on any target but full HP tanks, and his passive is not a bonus, its mandatory to use after EVERY ability cast or he just plain sucks.

True. A lot of people just don't understand why Taric has mana gates. They haven't played against a top lane Taric who does well early and manages to get into lane with a mana item...

the only "engage" taric has is his flash E...

Mana gates are archaic.
