Sated Devourer Yi is not op, you just have to learn how to play against him.

This is the jg's job. Pick a champion that is very good at counter jgling and just don't let him farm at all. Make it so he can't get sated until 25 or 30 minutes in, this means he will be a non-factor until very late in the game, take all the rift scuttles (Those give 2 stacks) and make sure your team makes dragon and rift herald priorities. All of their lanes will get virtually no help because yi will be busy trying to stack his devourer. End laning faze early, fight 5v4's if he is trying to stack his devourer. (You should be able to win 5v4s) Obviously if you let him sit in his jg stacking and give him all the objectives then he is going to be strong, that is like if you go into a lane and feed someone 10 kills. He's gonna be strong. Sure yi is strong right now but if you learn how to play against him you can make him unable to carry every single game.

Adding on.

Playstyle wise, Yi sucks at objective contesting, especially defensively. Guinsoo's Yi even has the added weakness of having a stack up time before he's at his most powerful. Positioning aggressively in a siege situation and keeping a Yi somewhere in your sight (the best position is directly in front of you, for example he's under tower while you're sieging that tower). Even if you don't counter pick him per say, you can easily force Yi into a terrible position simply by being more proactive than he can be at taking towers and epic monsters. If he defends, he's useless. If he farms, you can win the 5v4. If he flanks and attacks, he's isolated and easy to shut down. Being more proactive than a Yi easily crushes him.

Listen to this guy, my advice is coming from a low elo scrub who doesn't know how to play. This guy knows what he is talking about, yet still agrees with my post. If a low elo scrub knows how to play against yi you (As in the community) should too .

Eh, it is a little bit obnoxious and too easy to reach. I do agree people need to learn how to play around it.

When me and my friends see one, we just go something like Malphite top and Nautilus support and then make sure to deny the early dragons and rift herald so that he cant get those giant stack boosts.

Exactly, it's all about champion choice. If you pick a squishy champion or something into yi he's gonna destroy you.

Exactly. And it shouldn't be like that, that's why devourer is getting nerfed.

It should be like that, if you pick an immobile adc into someone like Jax you're gonna get wrecked. If you pick a melee bruiser into a long range mage you're gonna get wrecked. Sated devourer jglers are a different class. You have to take advantage of the time they spend farming the jungle and get the rest of your team fed. They are useless until at least 16 minutes in and so pick a champion who can gank early and counter jungle. If you pick fiddle jg into Yi he's going to get really fed (Even if fiddle may counter him later in the game.) Because fiddle can't gank until 6 meaning the lanes are on their own until 6 giving yi multiple minutes to free farm and not worry about you.

there is a different between learning how to play vs someone and needing to have diamond or master mechanics and voice communication teamwork to beat someone who only needs to build two items and play like a bronze 3
