I was actually going to make a thread about Repertoir. He is awesome. He even gives us his own input on the subject. A true hero. For a Rioter to also be active in a forum full of constant hate and negativity, he must have a lot of battle scars.

Actually Rioters like Repertoire, Bioluminescence and KateyKhaos don't see as much hate and negativity, because they do exactly what prevents a lot of that hate and negativity: respond.

instead of responding and commenting on these forums, I'd rather them do a quicker job in developing a system that detects intentional feeders. (it took them 6 seasons to develop that). I'd also like them to get rid of scripters and blatant ip farming bots at low lvl aram games that have been around for 3 seasons.

How would you know the progress if no Rioter ever posts on the forum? Or how would you be sure that the changes are going to be acceptable before letting the community knows about them?

what progress? I haven't heard of any progress to tackle the ARAM IP farm bots that have been around for 3 seasons. Intentional feed was left untouched for a good 5 seasons until they finally gave us news that they made a detection system. Riot never posts anything of those things with detail. Always a cloud of ambiguity cause they are too busy pooling resources in skins/game designs and relaxing on these boards.

It is good to see someone taking the time to talk to the community. I wish there were some rioters that would comment about some of the more pressing issues or great ideas that make it to the top of the boards with over 200 upvotes, but him communicating so much is definitely a step in the right direction. Honestly I don't know what Rioters have to lose from commenting. They get 100 upvotes, they know they are doing something the community agrees with. They get 100 downvotes, they know they need to take another look at what was talked about, maybe take a look at replies to see if anyone has a better idea. Their own comments help themselves either way.

There's a balance between how much time he spends reading and responding. The first post is to let people know he's there and direct their feedback. As long as he continues to get all the feedback he needs without commenting a second time, it's that much more time he can spend actuality reading and noting people's replies.

Pretty much, he posts to try and show that he's watching and get people to post their ideas. He won't often post a second time unless he wants more feedback on a specific idea or more details for a suggestion.

i feel like rioters don't completely ignore it. they see it, read it, think about it, but don't respond. a bIg reason as to why is that people on the boards might tear'em apart, especially on touchy subjects (nerfs of x champion, qq bc of buff on x champion, etc). it takes guts to try and answer player's questions or hold a civilized discussion since i've seen discussions over some topics that went sour reeeally fast. riot repertor is pretty awesome for diving in and interacting with players, an angel really, but that doesn't mean other rioters haven't thought over certain posts, they just don't seem to be able to find the courage or even authority (since i heard some rioters cannot answer/disclose certain things) to answer or talk about them.

Riot does pay attention to the boards. They don't often respond to ideas for the simple fact that they don't want people spamming or spam upvoting a single idea to try and force it on Riot. But the fact remains, they DO listen.
They also have to be careful to respond because they may find themselves bombarded by questions concerning something they have nothing to do with. People still think Morello is on the balance team, from what I've read, he's moved to R&D and design. Repertoir isn't connected to the balance team, people still constantly ask him questions about balance when he knows nothing about it.

And lord, can you imagine the hate that would drop if one of the balance team actually showed up. o.o These guys are just trying to do their job, but knowing people on here, the board would get flooded with death threats the moment one showed up.

I think it is because of all the overloaded kits his champs get. It's unbalanced in the grand scheme of things.

He wants to stick out, he wants his kits to be unique and throw out new mechanics. Also I can't place it solely on his shoulders, Riot sees what he designs and gives the okay, obviously Riot thinks he has good ideas and can be balanced.

I don't think anyone has problems with him wanting to be unique or have new mechanics.. It's when you overload the kit with too much stuff. The other champs don't have all the versatility his champs do. It's unfair to the champs and his champs have higher playability because they can dominate with little effort because of too much in their kit.

Yasuo Minion dash avoids skillshots with ease allows him to escape and close on enemies. Thats one abaility that lets him do all that. Too much. Zed is similar in the way he is very safe. Some people don't play him that way but the ones that do blow opponents away. Thresh does have a large kit. When these champs can do so much with one ability and other champs are lacking utility with theirs.. It is now a problem.

i work a full time job for the biggest shipping service in the world, 60 hours a week right now AT LEAST due to hoidays, and clock many hours on the boards while still spending most of my time away from home. Im really not trying to be an ass but posting 20 times on the boards isnt breathtaking management of time by anymeans in my opinion.

And being that he deals with mainly balance he has more opportunity to post on the boards, any way you put it he could clock that many posts in a 5 minute setting with the ample number of reasonable questions asked here every hour.

Especially when we havent considered the high possibility that getting on the boards IS PART OF HIS FULL TIME JOB.

That's not it. Have you seen the amount of hatred and QQ that flows through these boards on a daily basis? Repertoir willingly comes here despite knowing he could get slammed with a mountain of hatred from some random person at any point. It's not just that he manages the time, it's that he's willing to brave dealing with people who can be so unpleasant it's not even funny. And Riot doesn't even make these guys do this! Riot doesn't require reds to post here. They do this to try and reach out to the players, this is the Reds showing what Riot games is about, trying to work with each other and the players to make the game the best it can be.

Yet, Rep comes here anyways and tries to answer our questions on our free time, despite the toxic community, that's what makes it great.

You can blame the Shiv nerf for that one. The Warlords nerf did hurt him but merely put him back to around where he was before it existed. The Shiv nerf on the other hand pretty much removed one of his core items from the game; it's such a weak first item now that I don't even build it on him anymore. By the time Shiv does meaningful damage now, the shiv powerspike is completely overshadowed by the other items you have.

Just putting him where he was was fine then, he was perfectly balanced before, sitting at a 51% win-rate. and I would say the mastery was very strong on him considering he and Tryn were the only two champs that could use it, it was pretty damn broken since his sustain was very high and his laning was far too strong. If anything, the shiv nerf was just an over-nerf to Yasuo, and his stats reflect that.
