I'd think it does. You can either blind pick or dynamic queue, but for ranked you can only dynamicQ.

Dynamic q is not the same thing as champ select... they are two different things and the fact that people still think they're the same baffles me.

That's true. Dynamic Queue certainly does have an impact on ranked, but only in terms of grouping.

In terms of this discussion (what OP mentions), Dynamic Queue really isn't a factor. He's talking about manipulating role selection, which comes from New Champ Select, not DQ.

It sort of does. Using dynamic queue groups can manipulate their place in line fairly easily by including a support in their group. This will drag them to the front of the line, skipping over all the other folks who were waiting for mid/top because the system NEEDS a support so it grabs one and anyone attached to them.

This manipulation decreases the chances of a solo player getting the most desirable positions, though this is definitely a smaller impact than the imbalance of role selection has on the queue.

For instance 3 man group queues top/mid, mid/top support/fill. That group now always takes mid top and almost always support while enjoying minimal queue times.

i could queue up, pick leona, and go "which bullshit do i feel like having on my team today?" and dodge based on the most arbitrary reasons

one time i dodged because graves didn't have pool party graves and i wanted us to match

My favorite part was picking Soraka and actually being able to find a team with a frontline, and dodging those teams that went "lock in lock in lock in!" while I'm like "five squishies? I like being able to sit down."

I like the new champ select, because while we support mains have shorter queues it means other people don't have to wait 20+ minutes for a support.

Last season I got Mid 63% of the time in Ranked (and there was a post way far back that mentioned that statistically that's how often you should get your main).

Riot says you get Mid 55% of the time with the new champ select system.

How exactly is that better for me?

And you play your least favorite role 0% of the time unless auto-fill is on, and even then it should be much, much less before.

Actually, for support, all you have to do is include it in primary or secondary and you get it every time. You don't really have to fill. I've found that picking fill gets me jg sometimes.

This is fucking ridiculous. Just give us the old draft back, I don't mind playing other roles every now and then. That's basically what you did for challengers.

I've been in queue for over 30 minutes.

And then queue finally pops and I get my secondary. Wonderful. Why couldn't I just get my secondary in 1 minute queues then?

Well if it makes you feel any better they enabled autofill for Diamond+ where you are put in a role other than your 2 favorites. Defeats the purpose of the system and screws many high elo one-tricks, hopefully it's only temporary while they work on reducing match time.

things seem to have changed with the latest patch. I always put Jung/Mid (used to be Jungle/Support but we know how that goes). Used to get them about 50/50. On this latest patch i'm still puttin Jungle/Mid but now it feels like 90/10.

could be that less people are jungling and more are mid? But that's a huge swing so idk i feel like theyre tweaking the preferences

Think you've got it backwards there, friend. New Champ Select is the feature that lets people choose their roles. In the old pick order system you got those last picks who were "Mid or feed," which was brought on by their inability to choose their role.

New Champ Select decreases the number of champ select trolls and negativity going into games. Dynamic Queue decreases the amount of trolls if you simply queue with people who aren't trolls. Both are good...

...unless you are very high elo, then they are both bad because they affect matchmaking quality and queue time length very negatively. But that's only true for the top 1-2% of players, so people like you and I have no right to complain.

The only thing they have todo is the removal of the primary & secondary role. They need to replace the system with the selection of one preferable role. Basicly an auto fill on your secondary role in this system.

Ones in champion select you can request role trade with other people similar how switching a champion works. People have to realise that some roles are just more popular as other. And forcing yourself into one role just ruins the competive environment because the gap still keeps getting bigger the higher you get in the bracket. With a result they start to smurf more creating a terrible ballance.

Feeding IS what I'm talking about. People who literally cannot play mid, but queue for it with their primary role because they think it will help them get it (and then feed).

Before autofill, all you needed was someone to duo with so you just pick eachothers roles as secondary and then you could guaruntee getting your role. Can't say anything about queue times though...
