It’s not that great, so lets not overreact about it giving «too much damage».
You are looking at it at 30mins into the game. At that point the so called "overpowered" bone plating also doesn't do shit.
Scorch did how much damage again? 20-40? Still it was an issue, I see the same happening with this rune.
5-39 (+8.5% New Shield Amount) (+1.5% bonus HP)
Let's say Sion has Dorans shield (80 HP) and is level 1 (543 HP)
That thing will deal 5+6.8+1 = 13 damage at level 1
This is with nothing, no cs, no bonus items other than dorans shield it's literally him just picking the thing up and going to lane.
Scorch does 10-30 damage now.
So it is straight up a better Scorch in terms of damage through all phases of the game (also with a lower CD but that one depends on the shield CD of the user)
You see why so many people dont want to see this thing now?
