Obviously I understand being near dying minions, getting kills, assists, etc all contribute to XP, but sometimes Ill have more CS and kills yet my opponent is a higher level. I get you can be near dying minions, get their XP and not the CS itself, but if I'm over 40 CS then how is that plausible??

Meilouse1 votesOk so we can settle that your laner has ben in lane longer then you and a reason for that is cause you probably backed to buy items. It takes 4 fighter minions and 3 caster minions to get to level 2 so you should of hit level 2 at relatively at the same time. Couple this that if the jungler comes through the lane you share the EXP and you get less then what you're suppose to get. The reason he got a higher level is one of these 2 reasons or they all happened at the same time in the game. If you weren't range to get EXP you lose it, jungler comes by you lose more EXP, you back at a bad time you'll lose more. Hope I could help

6 fighters and 3 casters is only for botlane... (with duo xp)
Toplane/midlane it's the entire first wave and a single melee for lvl 2.

Bârd1 votesIf other allies are there, you get less XP, since it's split between all champions present.
If you leave lane, they can get a lead.
If they get some kill participation, they can get a lead.
