Summon Aery is very inconsistent when it comes to pets/clones

Summon Aery is super inconsistent when it comes to what pets it works on. In my opinion, it needs to either work with any damaging ability like it implies in its description, or there needs to be clarification on what it works with.

For example, it works on Zyra plants, but not Malzahar minions. It works with Shaco boxes, but not Shaco clone. It works on Mordekaiser dragons, but not Mordekaiser champion ghosts. It works on Heimerdinger turrets, but not Yorick ghouls. It works on Tibbers, but not Yoricks maiden.

Aery's description reads "Your attacks and abilities send out Aery to a target, damaging enemy champions or shielding allies". If my ability damages a champion, I expect Aery to be sent out. It makes no sense for it to arbitrarily work with some abilities and not others.
