How do you control Draven's axes?

Every time I try to juggle his axes, they NEVER go where I want them to go! I click on the minion, then QUICKLY quick on another direction, but even if it goes in that direction, I can't seem to control the distance on where the axe is supposed to land.

In addition, when I chase enemies, I can't seem to throw the axe far enough where I can both chase, and not ruin my catching streak.

In any case, I can't seem to control the axes to the point where it feels like RNG. My CS suffers as a result; I had 38 cs by 10 mins, and I was WINNING the lane. So...

What am I supposed to do? Can anyone tutor me?

It is slightly random but can be influenced.

Spinning Axe's landing location is determined by Draven's direction of movement at the time of Spinning Axe's impact on the target. ◾If Draven is not moving at this time, the Spinning Axe will bounce back towards his current location, either landing directly on him or to his sides. ◾On the other hand if Draven is moving, the Spinning Axe will bounce ahead of him, either directly in his path or slightly off to the sides.

Try just standing still without moving and hit a minion a few times. Watch where it lands. It should land close to you, but it may not land on the same side or in a predictable pattern. After you get the hang of that, then try moving around and see how it changes the direction. If you are chasing someone - running "left" across the bot lane for example - the axes will still land in one of a few possible locations but they will all move up in the direction Draven is running when the blade hits. If, for example, you're near their tower and trying to poke, then you can throw the axe, but start running back (away from tower) when it hits - it'll rebound further back since you were moving in that direction.

Well the weird thing is that when I do go in the right direction, the axes sometimes don't go FAR enough so I can't catch up to people. It's also kinda hard when it randomly lands in the middle of a creep wave and I miss my axe

The axes will always bounce towards an area Draven can catch them in time with the exception of creep block in which creeps may prevent Draven from pathing toward the axe. That said, the axes generally bounce toward the direction in which Draven is walking at the time of the hit.

That's the point. Sometimes you control them sometimes you don't. That's the reason why Draven is the only adc that is hard to play

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2bmWQbSITY how does this guy do it so well? It's so natural he never misses an axe.

He makes it look so easy, that I thought draven was an easy champ, but I can't catch like he can.

An awesome and very thorough guide, might be a bit dull to some though. He does a great job explaining and demonstrating axe control.
