Mundo vs Teemo top lane, help me?

So, I tried top lane for the first time in my entire life (not even kidding you). I was mundo, and I faced against a teemo. Here's what went wrong:

  • I LITERALLY CANNOT Q HIM. His MS is too fast, and he hides behind a crowd of minions.
  • Teemo's DoT makes him gain cs faster than me, so the wave is pushed
  • he got 2x the cs
  • he harassed me big time
  • no one could gank because he put too many shrooms
  • I could not move up because by the time I caught up to him, I was at half health
  • I missed over half of my Q
  • Every time I Q, I leave the minion with 1% health almost every time, and I can't run up to AA otherwise teemo harasses me

So...yeah, I don't know what to do. However, since it's my first time in top lane ever, I don't even know how to play as a top laner in general, so tips regarding that could also help me.

Teemo is semi-hard early for a Mundo. It can honestly go very 50-50 depending on how good the Teemo is. I've been playing Mundo a lot recently so I can give you this much:

  • Rush a Spirits Visage. Between the MR you get off that and the insane health regen you get when you ult, at level 6 you will be almost unkillable (unless they rush a Liandry first). Mercury's Treads will also help a lot at early levels as they provide magic resist and reduced crowd control effects, meaning his blinds and slows won't be as potent. I like to go a Frozen Mallet as a third item. I've found that if you can land a single E on a Teemo, they typically won't get away given the slows that you have from your Q and basics. If you're not feeling that confident and rather not engage, then a Warmogs for more sustain is good.

  • Learn to time the Q's. As dumb advice as this may be, if you can learn to farm from a distance with Mundo's Q then that takes a lot of the stress off. Don't feel too bad though as trying to judge how much a percentaged based attack will do is kinda hard at the best of times.

  • I personally find maxing E first to be more viable that maxing Q. Teemo's Blind has an 8 second cool down, but at max level only blinds for 2.5 seconds. Mundo's E on the other hand has a 7 second cooldown and lasts 5 seconds. Not only that, it helps a lot with farming under tower, as you can typically kill a minion in one hit after they take a turret shot.

  • Keep your tri-bush pink warded more than your river bush and have your jungle gank through there when you get pushed under turret. Teemo's will spend a lot of time shrooming up against ganks from river, and not focus as much on the tri.

  • Pay attention to where Teemo runs when you start to move towards him after he's hit 6. Teemo's always run towards where their shrooms are, and so not running directly at him, while awkward considering you're a melee, can avoid some shroom damage you would typically take. Try to move parallel to them and land a Q, then move in.

Rush magic resist items, farm with Q, ask for ganks before lvl 6.

I'm pretty sure Teemo counters Mundo anyways.... but yeah, rush spirit visage or sunfire cape and run on top of him. and take the mastery in the tank tree that steals hp.

just spirit visage and rush him when u have a wave coming with u and pop ur ult go all out and u should be able to win. you can also ask for a gank and if they step on shrooms then just tell them to recall and come right back to gank so theres no shrooms left. maybe jg should also gank when they have red so they do more dmg too. if u cant do anything then just farm under turret and even he does beat u in cs it doesnt matter cuz ur mundo. u mostly matter in team fights. its ok to lose turret. if he goes past fallen after that then its easier to gank him then.

pick ghost as a summoner, get an early second point in cleavers so it's easier to cs with it(you should stand way back and cs with Q to avoid harras) and max E first. Him pushing you in shouldn't be a big problem, mundo is quite good at takeing cs under the turret, and if he tries to harras you under tower he should be an easy target for ganks, atleast pre 6, and he gives you alot room to chase him down post 6.

Start Dorans shield and rush mr and boots, if possible boots of swiftness as it allows to chase him trough shrooms dollowed by spirit visage for tankiness and sustain. Make sure you got atleast a nullmage-mantel at lvl 6, you'll need some mr for the all-in.. Once you reach lvl 6, just rush into his face with ghost and ult(if possible, delay your ult til your +50hp so you gain more effective hp from it, though you might need the ms-buff asap), you will be faster than he and close range you cleavers are pretty likely to hit. He has no chance to out damage you vs the massive ad from E and the regen from ult once your in his face.

In many matchups top, you have to know your powersoike and play it save till that point, it's totally ok to drop some cs especially vs dedicated lanebullies like teemo.
