Why can sion's ult be slowed so heavily during his ult?

Sion's ult is supposed to be "unstoppable" and in his ult description it states that i should be immune to CC.

My ult startup animations/speed were heavily reduced. How is this an intended thing. i should truly be unstoppable.

Initial charge speed is based on movement speed at time of cast and you were hit by thresh box before you casted ult. If you got slowed during the charge it would have been an issue but this is just the way the skill works.
