Due to massive toxicity im quitting

This game is probably one of my favorite games, with some very rare and unique playstyles that can't be found elsewhere; but I can't deal with all the toxicity everywhere

someone's always flaming, and I don't mean just being competitive and cocky, which honestly I think is funny usually, but actually people losing their cool, constantly

ping spamming, inting, vicious personal remarks. I have thick skin, hell i'm a blue collar worker, but honestly I can't, it just ruins the fun for me when my mid laner is having a bad game so my top laner starts flaming him constantly, or even when its me having a bad game

I'm sick of people inting because of their inability to accept their autofill position

i'm sick of people seriously having 20 minute long tempertantrums forcing a bad game

and i'm sick of everyone flaming eachother constantly, that's not fun or social, its not competitive, it has nothing to do with the sport on either the individualistic or team level.

The thing about it is, these people generally speaking get banned and just buy new accounts for like 20$, I know this because a buddy of mine has been banned at least five time, and he just buys new accounts and flames/ints/etc until he gets banned again.. the guy is in his 30's and I refuse to play with him

riot hasn't reviewed its policies on how to handle these people in a long while, at least not publicly, as such I have come to the conclusion that Riot Games has no intention of revising their approach to curbing the toxicity in the community, which is notorious in other games.

In other games, from mobas to MMOs, to FPS arenas I have seen less toxic communities, when they share the same level of competitive play. Various solutions have been:

Voice chat: toxic players on voice chat games are less prevalent.

Subscriptions services: most of us really don't want this but people would rather not lose their rights to own a copy of the game, or their paid subscription time due to toxicity.

Team chat only: 50% less people to be vicious to

The Toxic Isle: The place where people who are generally very abusive get sent in some game, which results in them still having their account but being put in a place with other people who think the same way. (Similar things exist for people who DC a lot until their connection becomes recordably more stable)

Reformation rewards: people doing better than before and getting rewarded.

Positive play rewards: similar to reformation rewards but for just being a good person.

Shared sponging: if your top laner is 0/10/2 at 20 minutes he's at least still getting xp for the team

Oldschool tribunal: it worked better

and a myriad of other solutions

If riot games decides to actively try to use effective solutions as opposed to blanket bans and mutes, then I will probably come back. But the negativity in this game is just too much for me to seriously enjoy the title any longer, without simply starting a match and muting my entire team which... is honestly a massive handicap for the entire team anyways.

Some might make the (Frankly incorrect) assertation that these things only happen in silver and bronze, However those two divisions have over half of our player base and deserve some serious thinking in regards to the allowed community. Nobody likes going 0/2 in lane, they don't like it when they get lectured by their team in non-constructive ways, and the average player tends to play worse after they get insulted (In my experience).

if someone is a shitter, and trust me, I play with a lot of shitters, I'm a shitter too sometimes, but they're in a good mood and actively trying, then there is nothing you can do constructively with negative remarks or threats or reports.

Now I know sometimes people are trying to be like "Bro I saw your winrate, wtf you doing? you're better than this" but even that can tilt people over the edge into 2/19/1 scores of lost game proportions.

those players who are doing bad and play in a good mindset usually will just take orders or will fall behind you in mmr, so ignore it. it's a loss but you'll climb if they're all that bad, then you'll eventually be the guy who sucks in a match full of superior players, and you'll find yourself getting flamed.

its a lose lose for us all, just be better as a person before worrying about someone else being better as a player.

goodbye League
