@riot regarding Taliyah

Was really disappointed not to see any corrections to Taliyah in the patch 6.21 notes. She was absolutely gutted and all the power is thrown into her q, which isnt even capable of shoving lane early anymore.

Will anything be happening with her soon?

So, as a Diamond 5 taliyah main, who has mained her since her release, i personally think she is a decent spot. While i agree that the q wave clear removal was a major nerf for taliyah, riot added a hidden nerf to her q. Her q now starts to go on cool down as soon as it starts casting versus when it finished. And due to the reduced cool down you can now permanently have q going on as long as you move around enough. They have changed her to an extremely kite able late game champion and while it has taken some getting use to i believe she is over all extremely strong right now.

very interesting, im attempting to learn her as my stable mid laner since i find her fun as hell.

my biggest issues are in her early game, it seems like i cant get a back without losing a wave due to mana issues/inability to shove far enough. or i need to be incredibly passive and avoid trading and just farm up.

mid game i usually feel pretty weak depending on who i am fighting, but once i hit 3-4 items i go kite god and deal so much damage.

i do wish landing her w e felt more rewarding though, especially early before you get rylais. (which she probably wont build in s7)

I will add however that she is more one dimentional with all her power in her q, i do miss the old taliyah where you had to e before w. Basically when she her w e combo was insanely hard to land but had a high reward. I miss the old w D:.

Back on topic, yes you will miss a wave if you roam, i just accept that i will be behind in farm but over all a kill and assist is worth much more for your team then a wave. I generally will end lanning phase 20 - 30 cs behind but i will have roamed a ton and made both top and bot win. While it is possible to win lane with her, its nor easy/worth the effort. Be your teams second jungle. I also use to take tp for ganking/getting back to lane after a gank but i find that barrier just helps her survive the early game better. What is your build path btw?

i was following the drew guide quite heavily, if i was ahead or felt like i wouldnt die easily i rush item 3152 if it was a bad lane i took roa. second item was almost always rylais.

3rd/4th is rabadons/void staff order pending.

abyssal scepter situationally, i tried making item 3070 into item 3048 work but was no bueno.

drew guide? I dont know what that is but i would almost never build proto belt on her, you constantly want to keep a certain distance away from you opponent or else you risk getting out played. I believe one of her core strengths is to have the potential to do damage while the opponent has zero potential to hurt her. In my opinion building proto belt on her is akin to building it on xerath. But thats just my two cents.

idk ive found a lot of success with it (in a vastly different elo obviously) rushing protobelt into a lot of match ups, e+w+q protobelt is guaranteed death, or if its a very squishy mid lane q proto q will kill too.
