Mastery 5 Irelia looking for some tips

So I've recently moved away from mid lane to start learning top lane a lot more and decided I would main Irelia top, my question is I'm decent on her in laning and all and can get kills and fed, but how do you HARD carry on Irelia? Like say another one of your lanes feed. Should I go more damage less tank or less damage more tank?

Answers always depend on your team comp and the enemy team comp. It also depends on if your ADC is objective based or KDA based.
