I get that they wanted it to be for playing with a friend etc but flex is there for that now. Why have something like duo q in ranked?> just played vs a bot lane duo q when we were not and the difference in communication is rather absurd. Same when a jg mid is duo ...just seems like such a huge advantage in solo q rank.
Why not just let solo q rank be that solo q and let those that want to q together use flex ?
Many have been asking for a true solo que for years. I honestly wish I could just play the game with 4 strangers instead of having to deal with shitty premades.

Yeah, get duos out of solo queue. Why were they ever there in the first place? Let flex be the garbage mode where everyone gets boosted by smurfs.
Yeah.. and I think occasionally you get the double whammy of having a bad duo while the opposition has a good one.
I think you can even have two duos on one team.. not sure if this was the case before they did dynamic queue.
Doesn't make much sense to have people who know each other and communicate well and won't easily rage at each other, against random strangers.
It is a factor that completely changes the "solo queue" experience in a way I think too few recognize. Remove duos from solo queue, they can join Flex.

The simple reason is money. People who play with others play more and are more susceptible to the effect of feeling like you're missing out by not having skins (if your duo partner has skins and you don't, you'll be more likely to buy skins to match the expected norm than not).
It's unfortunate since matchmaking would be way more accurate if it didn't have to take into account Duos. Duos pretty much ruin matchmaking. There's no way to really take into account the synergy of two players. It also enables boosting via Duo Q. It really is a matchmaking killer. But since it makes more money for Riot Game, it will stick around.
Either get used to it, or vote with your brain and stop playing.

There might be a decent chunk of the support population who will only play if they can duo so they know at least one person on their team is worth supporting.
so they worth silver but duo to get gold lvl to drag about it but the moment they decide to play alone they ruin your game cuz they are actualy 1 tier below [slayer-jinx-catface]
It's so that after a winstreak i can get the 25% WR duo q that solo ruins the game.

If you want to play ranked with friend's? You should have to do it in Flex where everyone is doing the same!
I really have no Idea why Riot thought "Solo/Duo" was a good idea. Of course looking at the game as a whole right now it really seems like ALL the important decisions are being made by people who just don't give a crap.

It's also literally called Solo/Duo Queue... Not SoloQ. That's just an abbreviation the community gave it after playing it for so long because no one wants to consistently call it solo/duo queue.
Solo/duo queue is fine the way it is.
If you remove that and switch it to SoloQ only at this point..... As many people as there is that want it to be this way, it's the wrong move and will just make the game lose more ranked players. Which isn't what Riot wants. It's unrealistic at this stage (Being in season 9) to make it that way. If they did it 5-6 years ago, sure. But it'll never work now.
Because flex queue just doesnt matter, nobody cares about your flex rank, hell im iron 4 in flex but gold 1 solo/duo, soloqueue is just an abbreviation too, the real term is Ranked solo/duo. There is nothing wrong with duo's, i see these threads every few months when the state of the game is good and nobody has anything else to complain about. People always bring up that there is flex queue but the problem is that no one gives a flying fuck about flex, and on top of that playing with a duo for me anyways is usually just to have someone to talk to while I play because it just makes the game more enjoyable

Its not like there is a role that is specifically better to play with a premade. :/ As someone who is trying to solo climb as an ADC, its so hard to do it without communication with your support. I'd rather have the option to one day duoqueue with a support if I liked, as the lane is intended to be played, than never have that option and just be gimped the entire time.

Because the majority of duos are bot premades. It would make flex queues have giant wait times as they would find two 2-man premades but no one to fill it up as solo players don't play flex.

I usually get the opposite. Where it's B3 Nasus top and Gold Soraka supp. The B3 Nasus gets rolled, then their top lane snowballs the game. Stuff ruins the game.
I think reaching a certain rank duoing is not comparable to solo. The same goes for accounts with super high win ratese duoing. Since these two things test different skills and I want this ranked format to be primarily based on individual skill, I also wish duoing wasn't a thing when Flex exists. I think at least in Diamond+ it shouldn't exist just for the integrity of the system. It's too hard to give appropriate MMR penalties because some duo for fun and others to exploit combos like Lulu Yi/Twitch or other well practiced cheese strategies.
I know this doesn't help completely, But I do know that if you are in a duo against a team without a duo you will be against a team that is above your MMR. Riot places a high value on communication so they make it harder.
Personally I needed my other friend to play with me to get me out of Iron because it was hard to climb when 30% of my games someone would afk.
Once I hit bronze I stuck to solo and I found I was matched up against easier enemies.
When I play ranked solo, there are people who are duo on my team and their friends mmr might be lower like gold when the rest of the team is plat.
