This is unreal. Incredible. It just warms my heart.

I thought everyone would cheer and rejoice when the Galio "rework" was announced, but there are so many people who realize that getting rid of a champion's identity isn't right. I only wish that there could have been more people who looked out for Yorick, Sion, and Poppy. I can't believe so many people actually care about Galio. This is absolutely amazing. My faith in the community has been restored.

I'd argue that the current Yorick fits his identity better, in creating graves and spawning ghouls rather than just mashing QWE to drive his opponent out of lane.

And the Sion rework is almost universally seen to be the best rework. Him wading around in combat with strong zone control but clear windows for counterplay, as well as reviving after his death (even if it's a bit underwhelming) was a lot better than whatever he was before. Random lifesteal, binary play pattern, either broken or useless. I'm glad that's gone.

I don't know much about Poppy's identity, but her ult alone was enough to justify a rework.

Ok sure but why1 votes

Poppy's current ult is worse, I'd rather have to run away from her for ten seconds than have her forcefully thrust me away when she's about to die

I'm not a fan of her new ult either, but it's a lot better than what her old one was. She could pretty much ult an underfed carry, and there was quite literally no counterplay except for "run away and shield your carries". I'd go as far as to say it was the most unhealthy ability in the game.

There are many champions that can devastate an underfed carry with their ultimates with very little counterplay. Some don't even have to use their ultimate to destroy them. That's why being behind is bad. You get killed easily. They're SUPPOSED to die easily.

She wasn't targeting the underfed carry, she was targeting the fed ones. The way her ult works, only the underfed carry can do damage and CC her, but nobody else. So she could ult the 0/4 Nidalee and then destroy the 10/2 KogMaw who was surrounded by his team.

Okay, that's what I thought, to be honest. I've never heard people complaining about her targeting an underfed carry. I thought you meant that by targeting them, that they were actually going for them, not just using their ult on them. But yeah. Honestly, her ult problems could have easily been fixed. They could have just increased the extra damage dealt to targeted champions. Either that, or they could have decreased the damage that she did to champions who WEREN'T targeted. Maybe they could even make it so that she couldn't do ANY damage to the champion she wasn't targeting.

They're both bad for different reasons, imo. Although, I will admit, Poppy's current ult makes no sense. Maybe it's just because her character is really bland now.

Poppy's current ult is worse

It sure isn't lol.

Poppy's old ult make Poppy a ticking time bomb. With that ult and her passive she was, bar none, the ultimate win condition. Don't let Poppy get to six items. If you're her team, get her to six items. Because when she did, she could legitimately kill an entire team by herself. She was the single strongest champion in the entire game at six items. Vayne? Twitch? Yasuo? Azir? Veigar? Poppy outcarried them all. Poppy in the late game eliminated the very concept of a team fight. Her ult and to an extent her passive were so incredibly powerful that she had to be utter garbage for the bulk of the game, which made her very unreliable.

I hate that they turned a melee carry into a tank, but her old ult is possibly the most toxic ability in the entire game, rivaled only by her passive, lol. She needed a rework. It's just a shame that they decided to throw her identity in the garbage can.

This. This is my main problem. If the champion has something unfair or bad about their kit, take it away. Remove it. Make them better. What they shouldn't remove is THE CHAMPION'S IDENTITY ITSELF. It's totally uncalled for. The only exception I could make would have to be for Sion. Sion wasn't meant to be a mage. It was ONE of his identities, but it didn't make sense. What kind of mage has a giant axe? It's a lot more likely that he was intended to be a Juggernaut or Melee Carry, looking at his E and especially his ult.

But if anyone else said the same thing about any other champ, you'd just say "CC her lmaooooo"

I'm not sure if I understand what you're saying.

Do you know how old Poppy's ultimate worked?

It made her immune to CC from everyone but the person she ulted. It was literally a Kayle and Olaf ult combined into one that also lasted eight seconds.

And even if she did ult, say, a Janna, only Janna would have been able to damage her as well. Peel works because, while you're prying them off of your carries, your carries are damaging them and killing them. Poppy would be knocked back then proceed to keep rushing your ADC, kill them, then your mid laner, then your jungler. By then her ult might have worn off, but the damage is done.

Huh... That's actually a legitimate argument for Yorick. Yorick used to summon more ghouls, but since he could summon them all the time, they felt a little more... I don't know how to put it, really. They didn't seem as important, I guess? They WERE important, of course- Even more important than the current Yorick's ghouls, but since you always had them, you didn't really appreciate them quite as much.

Also, no. The new Sion is a great champion, don't get me wrong. He's fun, not overbearing to play against, not too hard to use, and overall just enjoyable, but there was no reason to completely overwrite the old one with him. Sion wasn't meant to be a CC tank. Also, the lifesteal was so that he could charge into battle recklessly and start going ham without having to worry about getting blown up. You know, charging into battle, sort of like what his entire lore was? Not that his current ult doesn't fit that- In fact, it even fits him better, I think. But I'm not trying to compare them- I can't. They're two completely different champions. Old Sion had a lot of problems, but none of them were fixed. He was just flat out removed from the game. If you consider that a rework, then it's a bad rework, because it failed in updating the champion.

As for Poppy, her ult could have been changed so that she could only damage the person she targetted, therefor she wouldn't have always been targetting supports who had no damage.

Very true. Other than Sion, I've never seen someone else played less than Galio. Even still, outright removing him from the game is not right. Maybe people are upset not because they care that much about Galio, but because they think what's being done to him is wrong.

SirΤeemο1 votes

who cares after all... people were asking for a "rework" meaning 1 level galio Q = instant pentakill and riot made an actual big dick champion .

happend with ww,sion, poppy, brand, ryze x2 and now aatrox..

Lol, not Warwick. Warwick is actually still the same. Brand still has all his abilities, too. Also, I'm pretty sure that Aatrox is actually worse off now.

I get what people are saying but they can't deny that galio is a flash ult bot in his current state. if he still punishes high magic damage teams while providing more utility I think galio mains should welcome the changes.

That's because it's his main strength. That's who Galio is. He's that champion with that devastating ult. Also, his shield is part of who he is, too. His E is too, to a lesser extent. His Q isn't really that memorable, though. I can understand if they decided that it would be good to get rid of his ult, but keep his W, or get rid of his W and keep his ult, or even get rid of his W AND ult and keep the E, but instead, NOTHING was kept. To top it off, he looks and sounds completely different, too. It's just not Galio anymore to a lot of people, me included.

Very interesting. Got any evidence to back up your claim? (Also, Veigar's ult doesn't scale off the opponent's AP anymore).

evidence? what evidence you damn bronze XD galio's passive is giving ap by mr xD
and veigar is good against him because of his power xD and as long as he is only mr build ad champions deal more to him..l like what evidence do you need? xDD

50% of your MR is hardly anything. An item like Banshee's veil only gives him 35 Ability Power. That's fucking pathetic. He's going to hit like a piece of tissue if you build him only magic resist. Even worse, his strongest ability, which is his W, scales off of AP, so if you actually build AP instead of 6 banshees veils, you're going to be healing for way more (not to mention his W gives him not only 90 magic resist, but also 90 ARMOR), AND be doing more damage. And since you'll be healing for more every time someone hits you, you're going to be tankier than you would if you were stacking MR. Galio can easily blow up an ADC if you build him AP, while being extremely tanky at the same time. If you build him only MR, you're going to be squishier and dealing a lot less damage. The only MR items you should be buying on him are Spirit Visage and Abyssal Scepter, and that's mainly because they're just very good on him, with or without the MR.

In short, the only thing that he has that makes him "stronger" vs AP is his passive. Every other part of his kit is the same vs AD or AP. So, while you might be able to say he's stronger against AP, he's still more than good versus AD.

I'm using the proper tense. The reworks on those champions are far and away better than the cancer-ass excuses for kits and identities that they were beforehand.

You're comparing a stone to a Blue Whale. The "reworks" have absolutely nothing in common with the old champions, and therefor trying to compare them is completely meaningless.

I would much rather have the current champions than what they replaced.

I am therefore comparing them and the comparison is meaningful.

Really not sure why people are freaking out about Galio when hes probably the least played champion throughout the past 6 seasons - things like MF/yorick/etc that was once high tier but then reworked because they fell out of flavor are what people should be upset about
