Losing needs to be more rewarding

I would write a cliche textbook with a tldr at the bottom for more upvotes, but screw that I want to get to the point because I'm sleepy as hell. The post is still long as heck, if you want to read it go for it. I'll still include a Tl:Dr

I think at this point a lot of people can agree, league of legends isn't fun anymore. It just isn't. That may be the opinion for a majority, but it is an existent opinion. Don't get me wrong man winning is a LOT of fun. but winning is never up to you, you guys know that. Winning will never be up to you and your sole performance. No matter how great YOU do or how great of an actual player you are, you will always lose because of that feeder, that troll, that afker, etc.

Because of this, because of the fact that league is a team game, because of the fact that winning is not in your power alone, LOSING needs to be more rewarding. The IP amounts for losing (and winning for that matter) are honestly laughable. No I'm not asking for 1000 IP a match but like 70? really? You got champs for like 4800, 6300, and you get around 70 ip a match? Lets get a better number as an average. I got 106IP for winning recently, and 83 for losing, so lets pick 90 ok? If I want to buy a 6300 champ, and am getting 90 IP a match (Not including first wins of the day ik) I need to play 70! matches(6300/90=70). You multiply that by the average time it takes for a match (30 minutes) You get 2100 minutes!!. I'll be fair this amount is _dramatically _ decreased by first wins of the day and shorter matches, but my point still stands.

Let me give an example of a game where I had FUN. It's called robocraft some of you may heard of it. At the moment its crap but it has one thing going for it, granting losing players something to fall back on. Winning teams get diamond/gold crates where they get items and whatnot, while losing teams ALSO get crates, and can ALSO get items and whatnot. This game isnt the best example as matches aren't literally 40 minutes long. Which brings me to my next point:

Let's compare a winning player to a losing one in league. Winning: Higher chance for S rank, key fragment, more IP, LP (When qualifying), more exp (when qualifying), and more champion exp. Losing: Probably no S rank, No key fragment, crap IP, losing tons of lp (When qualifying), less exp (when qualifying), and less champ exp.

I'm not saying at ALL that losing teams should be getting the same as winning teams. Losing should be, no, has to be rewarded less than winners, otherwise winning wouldn't feel like winning. Let me just make that clear, but the gap between what a winning team gets and what a losing team gets is way too large in league of legends. For a game that takes 30-40 minutes a match, winning and losing just isn't feeling rewarding for the time you invest in the game. You don't just invest time when you play league of legends. You invest stress, you invest anger, you invest hate. And you get 109 ip for that ;).

A lot of great youtubers have quit league of legends for one reason. "The game isnt fun anymore" You'll hear all of the youtubers that quit league that those words exactly. Perhaps the rewards for the game are what make it, not fun.

This isn't just about IP ok? I know players that have over 300k ip not knowing what the heck to do with it. My point is that rewards in general, for a game you invest almost an hour into, just do not suffice. In fact, it turns you away. When you spend all this time sitting in a chair clicking away just to get some satisfaction (or dread if you lose) and some tiny rewards, the game starts to push you away.

Tl:dr- Losing, and winning, just isn't rewarding enough for everything you put into a match. Not just the time and emotions, so much more. Rewards in general, beyond IP are so lackluster for a game you invest so much time into. Not only this, the gap between rewards for a winning team and rewards for a losing team is huge. Winning teams should get more rewards of course, that's what winning is for, but that gap in league is a little too large. The title says it all, I hope this thread can get some attention. If you did actually read all of this, then you have my extreme gratitude, I know it was a lot to read. Even if you just read the tldr, thank you, Please help me get this thread some attention. I appreciate it.

I'll add a poll if requested, not expecting this post to get a lot of attention tbh.

Anyway, I don't find the main game fun either. I just play the featured game modes, which are fun. And sometimes ARAM, which is fun if the team comps aren't ridiculously imbalanced.

Losing is rewarding you understand what you lacked that resulted in your defeat

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaa. no. That's nothing more than cringy text.

Not always you lose because of your mistakes. Not always can you learn from your mistakes. For example when you don't see them. Not always learning on your mistakes will lead to success.

And in the end, LoL is a game. If we'd skip rankeds for a second, then you have gamemodes meant to have fun which don't reward you fairly for losing. "Reward for losing" feels kinda weird, but in the end, it's a game for fun. If we were to get demerits everytime we'd lose in fun-based gamemodes, then fk.. LoL would have been deserted long time ago.

I stoped playing after getting burned out playing versus premades who were obviously higher tier than me. I dislike being toyed with. So I said to myself "fuck it. There are other fun games" and uninstalled. You can say that i'm weak, lame.. but I wonder if you could stop playing just like that. Or are you addicted to the point of no return?

? You don't play the game

Very egotist prolly why you can't handle team play

This game is about having fun Winning and losing doesn't matter

I've played this game for 6, if not 7, years.

Just cause I stopped playing doesn't mean I don't know what happens inside of game.

So your argument is just as invalid as your brain. You try to nitpick slighest thing to prove me wrong. Thing is: You and I know how stupid it sounds.

I could somewhat agree on yout nitpick-troll-argument if break time gap I had was longer than 3 seasons or so. Then yeah, Riot would mess LoL hard enogh for me to not know what's happening inside. But 4-5 months? Nope.

EDIT: Just in case I'll tell you now: I won't reply to you anymore. Nor will I read your newest opinion. I simply do not believe I'd gain either wisdom or fun from this talk. I know you'll try your hardest to come up with something, but you don't have to, It'll go in void.

P.S Me not responding =/= you have won this conversation. So yeah.. Have fun or whatever trolls do these days :)

2100 minutes, not hours. If you were to win 70 30 minute games in a row and get 90 lp each game, it would be 35 hours of gameplay. I honestly don't really see a problem with the reward for winning or losing a game. it seems pretty appropriate to me. Being there's only so much you can buy with ip, I would rather it take longer to get than just unlock everything quickly and not having anything to save up for.

basically, if you think the reward for winning isn't satisfying now, imagine how much less satisfying it would be getting IP that you couldn't spend on anything because you already bought everything there was to buy. just as an example, I saw when annie bot was streaming he had like 400k IP just sitting there with no use.

Yeah i completely know what you mean, I covered that in this thread too in the 8th paragraph.

Dynikus1 votes

I'm not really sure what else you want them to give you as a reward for playing you can already get free skins for playing well, mastery points for your champion, IP, LP if you're playing ranked, xp if you're under 30... They already offer pretty much everything they have in the game to you just for playing it.

LlamaSpeed2 votes

I get what you mean and I do agree, but the frequency/amount of these rewards are definitely not enough. The whole free skin thing is extremely tedious and time consuming even if you perform great and win match after match, the chance of getting a key frag is pretty low. Not to mention the limit on chests, 3 fragments for a key, essence required for a skin, or 3 skin shards (usually 1 per chest) for a random skin. For all that you put into a match, what you get back is very minimal.
