No, I Will Not Follow My Laner

No, I will not follow my laner if they decide to roam. No, it's not my fault if you die, while I'm taking tower or making a play on the other side of the map, well after I have pinged. I play a lot of champions with no mobility, or limited mobility, therefore it usually makes more sense to siege instead of playing team deathmatch like a bunch of apes.

I will follow my laner under two exisiting conditions: 1.) An ally is near and can help me to corner them 2.) We have vision of the area

If not, it's simply safer and more effective for me to siege the turret. So, please. If you're going to bitch about my laner being fed to me, after I have pinged mia and where they are headed, and I have not died to them once in lane, check yourself, ape.

You should always follow, most of the time your laner will get a kill or an assist, even a tower and you will get nothing. If you just follow your team can get kills, you can get kill, or assist, or your laner can just be afraid that your team will colapse on him and just turn back.

Either way, the result is always better to follow. If you have summoner 4 is unaceptable you don't follow.

The amount of times the fights are extended because they players are extremely bad is 90% of the time. When I smurf and see people fighting I ALWAYS run to them because the players are so brain dead that even if they are low they will stay and you get free kills. Only bad players like this kid thinks that sitting in your lane doing jack shit will help your team ROFl

That's way too general an answer. You have to take into account who you are and who the enemy laner is too, because sometimes running after the enemy mid laner when they're going into an area with patchy vision (the river) is not particularly wise. If you follow LeBlanc as Orianna you are asking to be murdered. On the other hand, LeBlanc can definitely afford to follow Orianna and Ori can definitely follow a variety of other mages, for example.

I don't agree that kills happen -most- of the time that mids roam anyway. There is no reason your side lanes should die as long as you ping on time and they pay attention unless the enemy jungler comes too and they have no way to abandon their tower. Assuming your side laners can keep themselves alive, you profit quite a bit from staying in lane rather than following your laner. More farm for you, more farm denied for your laner, and more damage on the enemy turret.

You should never tell someone to always respond to any situation in a certain way. League is way too variable a game for there to ever be a right answer to anything that comes up like this. There is risk and reward for following and it's the same for not following. You should always weigh things up at the time.

I can agree with not following if someone is going to actively push their lane.

If your laner roams for 4 minutes and you are just freezing and not pushing into turret, then you are actively hurting your teammates. If the enemy team has no reason to deal with you, they will continue to roam and pressure other lanes by outnumbering your teammates.

He is playing in silver elo the players will not just roam get a kill and get back to lane. I bet if I rewatched the game he would be afk mid while 3 people are low botlane and he could clean up. But lets all agree with the simple logic of someone who never even makes it to gold fuck what the diamond player that can actually climb says what does he know (^: #welcometotheboards

As my comment will get many down votes, I just don't care. If I ping Mia 6 times followed by danger ping 3 times and my laner passes multiple wards and you die, it is NOT my fault. My laner may be able to roam better than I can. Say if I was lulu mid vs lb mid. By the time I get bot, my adc and supp are already dead so I wasted cs, time, and dmg to mid turret by following or trying to.

He doesn't look gold to me.. From his tier he went from silver 3 to gold 3 to plat 3 and decayed. Also by the looks of his mmr he was probably around diamond mmr as well http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=ggxj9

Judging by your score last game I'm guessing you learned this the hard way. :^)

Yeah, I haven't been playing too well lately. I'm kinda stressed out, and a bit tilted. I was doing much better last week. Oh, well. You win some, you lose some.

You're forgetting some major aspects of the lane. One ping isn't going to offset the major pressure loss from early roams. If that results in a shift in lane priority when your bottom lane (for example) just used mana to try and get a good recall timing, they're now either summoners down or at best at their tower with low resources because of the pressure your laner just placed. If you can't match your laners' presence and get like 10 cs it's really not worth, because now either A your bot lane gets a shit recall time under tower because low resources or B gets tower taken and bot lane gets 525 gold to snowball the game.

Obviously if you fuck up and don't notice him roam then go for the push, but if you can match the roam with a stronger champion then do that. Alternatively, if you're on a weaker skirmish champion, try to push the lane while you're playing to protect your side lanes from roams otherwise you just lose the game.

Gl in your future games buddy.

From a Plat player, playing in Silver ELO you are right. In other ELOs, no, but for you the farm is mounds more important and will lead to large item advantages. However this only applies if you farm well.

To be honest, I don't exactly play mid lane too much. I'm more of a top lane player. If I was a better player and more familiar with the mid lane champion pool, I would be more comfortable with following. When I do play mid lane, I prefer control mages such as Zyra, Anivia, Lux, Ziggs, ect. I got a free Syndra skin recently and she's FOTM, so I play her on occasion. Mid lane itemization is also not something I'm as familiar with.

In my most recent game, the one that caused me to make this thread, I think I probably would have been better off building item 3027 or item 3030 with my second item being item 3157. Then again, I'm not quite sure what to build in certain matchups. The main reason my laner was roaming a lot and getting kills was because I was harassing him with my range, and our Irelia took ignite instead of teleport, then bot was a vulnerable, immobile, ADC that he could cheese. Maybe if I had warded more, or we had more vision of the River from mid to bot, then I would have felt more comfortable roaming.

To me, in my personal opinion, I think that I'm just tilted at the moment, and I either need to take a break for a few days, or just play it out and try my best to learn from these frustrating experiences.
