Why Do Junglers Do So Poorly In All Of My Games?

Every single game, my team's Jungler does terrible, and it's costing the team's I'm on perfectly winnable games.

I'm someone who really hates duo'ing, but I'm so fed up with how poorly the Jungle role does every game, that I decided to duo with a player who mostly only Jungles... not a smurf, just a slightly lower division player who I believe Jungles fairly decent. The result? Shocking.

We didn't lose a single game while he was Jungling, we won 6 games in a row. Then, the system started giving him 2nd choice and auto filling him. Which, he's not very good at other roles.. and funny enough the trend of terrible Jungle came right back.

Funny story right?

I'm seriously getting pissed at how predictable my games are.

1.) The Jungler definitely isn't going to gank MY LANE, which is usually the smartest one to gank (a decent amount of the time). 2.) The Jungler is going to bait BOT and MID into completely brain dead plays, where the enemy is going to outplay. 3.) Every single time my Jungler ganks, he's going to get counter ganked and give the enemy double and triple kills mid / bot.

I mostly play top lane, I keep seeing this happen over and over and over again.

Let me tell you, I can't do anything about this. If I teleport Bot or roam Mid, the other laner is just farming and will take my tower. Even if I help my teammates get fed, they're incapable of carrying the rest of the game, they make stupid choices and they feed.

I've tried to be nice to my teammates, it doesn't get me anywhere.

  • "Hey, can you maybe come up here and give me a hand?"
  • "I think we can kill him if you try after [insert jungle mob].
  • "I just saw the other Jungler doing [jungle mob], might be a good time to gank"

All that happens is, I get ignored and they keep farming away in their Jungle. Then turn and go run to another lane so they can contribute more to causing our teammates and themselves into poor situations. In most scenarios where team's really are evenly matched, maybe this isn't an issue. The problem is, these players that are Jungling are BAD. Like, REALLY bad.

Seriously, I'm over Solo Queue... I don't really understand what's wrong with the game right now but this is more than I can handle. I'm tilting off the face of the planet because I keep seeing the same exact problem from the same exact role every single time, game in and game out. There is no solution for the problem other than better matchmaking, which clearly isn't going to happen.

Time to hop on the duo queue band wagon so the "terrible Jungler queue" will stop slapping me in the face.

Here's an amazing tip for you if you keep having this problem and/or want to learn to influence and carry games the best you can.

Learn to jungle yourself.

Actually, I already do Jungle on several champions. I don't really like the role in general, I prefer laning as opposed to fighting against Jungle monsters for 60% of the game. Fighting mobs is boring, at least while I'm cs'ing I can trade with an enemy and attempt to outplay him (or fail trying to). I enjoy the challenge of trying to 1v2 when a Jungler attempts to gank me, or a duo lane is matched against me. I really don't mind bad situations, I can only learn from whatever errors I'm going to make.

The core of the problem isn't the role, it is the player. Even in solo queue, League of Legends requires teamwork. Suppose I can outplay 1v2 on several enemies multiple times a game, that won't change the end result of the game. If even one player on your team refuses to work together with one other player the difficulty of the game rises 20%.

I can play any role that I want, that player who refuses to work with his or her teammates will just end up somewhere else on my team. He / she is probably going to be even worse at that role than he or she is at Jungling as it's not their main choice of role. Me trying to play a role I'm less experienced with isn't going to increase my odds of winning, if anything they will be less.
