Maw changes only nerfing bruisers

I'm not sure what the exact numbers are but this is what's stated by Riot (at https://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/gameplay/patch-811-early-look?utm_source=LeagueClient&utm_medium=OverviewTier1):

"Maw of Malmortius "Better stats and a shield scaling nerf marksmen won't care about." More attack damage More magic resist Magic damage shield no longer scales with magic resist"

This might seem good, but it seems like it could be a big nerf to bruisers. Sure, marksmen won't care about the changes to the shield scaling nerf, but now bruisers won't get any bonuses from building mercs and/or an MR item (say Visage, or abyssal?), but marksmen (probably the last role in need of a buff against assassins) are going to be getting more MR and basically the same shield they were already getting?

TL;DR This is just gonna buff marksmen against assassins and nerf bruisers overall.

That page didn't mention that the base shield was buffed by 50.

Bruisers rarely ever build maw AND additional MR on top of it besides maybe mercs, and if they do build mercs, they're only losing out on 20 shield health.

The item is getting straight buffed as a standalone, with 10 more AD, 5 more MR, and a slight 5 shield health. The changes make perfect sense, as it's pushing it more towards champions who build damage, as they typically wouldn't be able to afford to sacrifice more slots on MR. Bruisers themselves have more MR options to choose from anyway, and since health is also really effective at mitigating magic burst, the only time they double dip in MR items is if the enemy comp is over saturated with magic damage.
