Possible Aatrox buffs

As it stands currently Aatrox isn't in the meta for multiple reasons which I'm still unclear of. However I feel that could change fairly easily. The issue is his Q Dark Flight. Right now at level 5 it has a base cooldown of 12 seconds. With max cdr that translates to roughly a seven second cooldown for a possible 1 second knockup. Rek'sai's tunnel knock up combo takes around 3 seconds to execute for the same knock up. Granted she has a delay on the knock up effect on same chamions but the radius is a bit larger than Aatrox's in my opinion. My suggestion? Well there are a couple I have thought up. Either give the knock up radius bonus damage, reduce the cooldown by 3 seconds and add the delay effect onto it, or increase the range that Q can be cast. I love this champion and I feel like one of these changes could make him a bit better in the current meta. His build could be modified slightly to get 40% cdr fairly easily using black cleaver warmogs and the already key spirit visage. What do you guys think?

The thing Is that Aatrox is at that point where he's in the middle of both being too underpowered or becoming too overpowered and the only way out of it is to do a rework, but then again it'll be difficult to keep all of his playstyles in touch because that's what makes him get to that position...

The Q changes would be a nice buff but I doubt his winrate would see a huge increase at all.

Firstly, no one plays Aatrox. All this bullsh!t about him being either u/p or o/p with slight changes makes no sense. Even if he does get buffed, the chances of you EVEN SEEING an Aatrox is so fking low. Legitmately, the only people who play Aatrox either mains him or has put in hundreds of hours playing him.

Secondly, how the f*ck is having a slightly bigger knock up radius, slightly lower c/d (I propose only 1 or 2 seconds taken off of Q, 3 might be a little too far even if it doesn't really change him) or slightly increase the range on a non-existant champion going to break him. It's his ONLY mobility, it's an OFFENSIVE mobility and it is EASILY punishable. Do you know what I like about his Q? It has so much counterplay, almost too much counterplay. ANY displacement abilities will take him out of its animation, the windup gives you plenty of time to react alongside the fact that it reveals where you will land, it has a long af cooldown and Aatrox does not generally build cdr and finally it does like no damage and the cc only lasts for a second whilst also stunning yourself.

Aatrox is suffering from having a kit that has aged poorly. It still functions but is not going to make it to any LC$BIGPLAY$. Riot are avoiding him so they don't create a balance nightmare if they start touching all his numbers and I can respect that. If they do decide to give him buffs before his rework, they're almost positively going to be 'light touch ups' or QOL buffs like the ones you suggested. Personally I wouldn't hold my breath on those so I'm just going to play Aatrox focusing on areas I can improve rather than where the champion could improve.
