Will the meta shift to a Mage/Tanky Mage meta after 5.13?

Im no sure if it will become a huge meta like the Tanks and Assassins had, but maybe like a micro meta type thing (if that even exists lol). If it does I dont think i woud have a problem with it, but I like to play mages so personally bias XD.

I don't think so. It's likely that a select few mages will get a lot strong but the best mage builds right now are the ones that are getting nerfed, so if anything this will put mages more out of the meta than they are now, with exceptions.

not exactly correct. The ONLY mage builds are getting change (generally only) As stated and through the math you can easily end up with the same ap, so how is that getting nerfed? Now you have more items you can wiseley build

You actually end up with a bit less AP than before with the triple NLR build, it's only about 15 AP in the difference but it's a nerf. The people who can afford to go for less than full damage do get a buff but a lot of the best mages right now are the ones who go for the absolute highest AP you can get and they're the ones getting hit, so for a mage meta to appear you need to believe that these changes will make the mages who currently aren't the best good enough to dominate.

Too early to say.

Consider the fact that most tanks scale reasonably well on AP, too - so more useful AP items benefit them, too.

One good thing about mage meta: item 3060 becomes OP. Because, what can you do against this item if ALL your waveclear is AP?

I suspect that mages will become more Versatile but not more powerful. The whole point of changing is going to give more power to other items instead of having every AP taking Zonya's, Rabadon's, Voidstaff. All of which takes up half of your item slots.

Yet I don't really feel like that will significantly increase the AP that mages will get late game. (or possibly at any stage of the game) So the real question is, will the Items that do get buffed, give special strengths to a small sec of champions, and make them Viable?
