Why does fiora's w block true damage?

It's true damage for a reason, right? It's not like she isn't powerful enough.

I guess true damage must not be as true as it would lead me to believe then.

Why does Kayle's ult block true damage? Why does Kindred's ult prevent true damage from killing you? Why does Tryndamere's? Hell, why does any shield block true damage? It's called true damage for a reason. /s

At least those are ults and not a standard ability right? They have decently long cds, as opposed to some 19s cd at rank 1 with no cdr (not an exaggeration).

because that's literally always how true damage has worked. It can't be amplified or reduced. it can be blocked or dodged or offset by barriers.

Alright, but that seems unnecessary is all, at least on a basic ability. I mean if it was an ulti, or had a non scaling cooldown longer than 16 seconds, I guess it's fine.

This was mostly just a question of mine because it seemed unnecessary with all the other stuff in her kit.

If Fiora needs nerfs I think they should go to literally any part of her kit except for her W. Melee sustained damage champions that are meant to build damage need a seemingly broken defensive ability or they become worthless. Old Fiora's Riposte was useless and the only way she could deal damage was during an ult that made her untargetable for the whole duration, and once it was over so was she.

Not saying it isn't necessary (I don't particularly like it, but she needs something in more offensive builds), I guess this was more a question of true damage and how it properly functions.

In any case, I do think she needs to be fixed and this is potentially what riot will hit next, which if it happens, I would like to see it not block as much as it currently does.

What I really hope is that we can all agree that at some level: Fiora is broken, and some interactions shouldn't happen within her kit.
