Why is Ryze's ult + stasis interaction being removed?
I saw the patch notes. Why? It's the one interesting play you can make as Ryze, and now it's being removed. Why?

Literally. No. Counterplay.
It's pretty similar to Riot nerfing Graves' ability to animation cancel the knockback on his ultimate a while ago. The ability tooltip states that if Ryze becomes unable to move or cast abilities, Realm Warp gets cancelled. Using stasis while ulting makes him both unable to move and cast so according to the ability it should technically cancel itself. IIRC they never made the distinction that non hostile stasis effects will cancel it.
That and the fact that Riot probably made the change because of the safety Perfect Timing is giving him at level 6. Especially in pro play where he's a highly contested pick. Although like most of his nerfs it will probably make him pretty shit outside of pro play.
Because stasis means stasis, not teleport to escape.
Cause it has 0 counterplay.
Because it is way to effective at escaping bad decisions.
Stopwatch is partially to blame.
Basically a "Get out of jail" free card.
Because ryze isn't allowed to be good and no one sans bot lane is allowed nice things.
