There is zero consistency.
If you win promos you get 0 lp, even though winning 3 games (or 2) would actually put you above that LP in the next division.
Dodging should deduct 3 even in a series, so whatever LP you would be at after series, you just are -3 from that.
Trolls should not be granted absolute power over you just because you are in a series.

I use this feature all the time so I can avoid playing in the handicapped promo games and keep my win streak going to earn skips to bypass several promos at once. It's actually pretty handy to have it cancel the series and allow you to climb faster by chasing skips.
Stop worrying about dodging in promos. Treat them like normal matches instead. Do what you would normally do, even if that means dodging the troll. Just ignore everything about the league system entirely. It literally does nothing. Every time I play a promo I KNEW ahead of time I should have dodged I end up regretting it and wishing I had just dodged and saved my MMR inflation.
