Why penalty for dodging?

What is the justification for dodge penalties? After playing ranked for some time now.... I dont think there should be any penalty.

If you're in solo queue, and your teammates are COMPLETE IDIOTS, and put together a team with zero tanks for example... you're gonna lose. There's no point even playing the game out.

Why force someone to play a game that is guaranteed to make them lose LP? That seems just wrong to me.

When I started, I thought it was annoying, with all the "we're almost ready......oh durn someone dropped out". stuff.

But now that I have more experience.. I'd rather go through that.. than an obviously losing game.

Similarly.. I think that someone in promos, should be EXTRA ENTITLED to dodging, rather than less. It's unfair to screw up a promotional game just because the player happened to get saddled with idiots in his special 3game series.

Because dodging wastes the time of 9 other people. Your not getting out of that unharmed. Now wait the 5 freakin minutes like everyone else does!

so playing an obviously losing game because of smite revive soraka jungle or clairvoyance cleanse top lane kog, since a 5 year old didn't get mid, is not a waste of time. lmao gtfo

i have no problem with waiting 5 minutes. its the LP penalty, and "you lose your series game" penalty, that matters

Back when we had a 30 minute time penalty, but no lp penalty, we would pick champions in 5 lobbies before playing a game. Teams would actively try not to pick the best picks just to get games.

It was thoroughly stupid.

Not sure if you were playing a long time ago when there was no penalty for dodging. But at the time, people abuse that fact to a point where this has to be implemented.

It does feel bad to get locked into a 0 frontline team or melee botx2 team. But back then, you can queue up 5 times, and it was all dodged by someone for whatever reasons, and you would have wasted 30min just trying to get a queue up.

Maybe Riot can give players 1 "dodge token" for every 10 games they play? Not sure how they can fix this but at this time, its better than the previous situation.

Because everyone would dodge until they find the "perfect" match if there were no penalties. There is a minor LP penalty so you can avoid toxic players or bad situations, but it isn't meant to be an excuse because you don't like your or the enemy teams compilation.

"Omg I got countered!" If there were no pdl loss in dodging, no one would try to play against a hard or soft counter, they would always wait for the perfect matchup.

Theres a difference between "i dont like it", and "my team are $#@$@# idiots". How about letting people have a fixed number of dodges per day or something? especially when it comes to placement games.

then as far as the "oh I dont like enemy team comp" thing... I'd rather just have (draft+blind mode+dodging allowed), than the current aggravation.
