Olaf, Trydamere, Aatrox...Riot logic

Olaf and Tryndamere are infinitely better right now than Aatrox

Both of them can lifesteal like crazy, even better than Aatrox can in some ways.

Both of them can forgo tank items because Olaf has build in resistances, sporting 150 armor mid game with ninja tabai and cloth armor, and he doesnt need the tankiness the way Aatrox does because his ult will let him auto attack and heal and do damage, while Aatrox will die once he gets hit with that hard CC.

Trynadamere has a an ult that lets him continue to do stupid damage and hence he doesn't have to worry about building armor either.

Both of them have better attack speed bonus--that is, they will get the attack speed by virtue of fighting. Aatrox will get his attack speed by virtue of self damage while prevents him from healing off of that auto attack.

Aatrox has to find a balance of damage, attack speed and tankiness. The other two just have to worry about damage if they want. OR all tank and cleaver for armor for Olaf because he still gets to do his true damage.

Despite this, Riot is concerned about buffing Aatrox? What is the worst that could have happened? He becomes decent? Like those other 2 champions?

This stuff makes me so angry, because Riot is either incompetence OR they don't care. OR worse, they could have done it a year ago, and they do care...but just not as much as they care about releasing a boat load of retarded new champs that aren't even all that great so they can generate more revenue.

When Riot prioritizes new champions and leaves many old ones in bad states, thats the same as them giving the finger to people who main those champions. Basically "fuck you we don't care about our existing customers as much as we care about getting new ones"

We shouldn't tolerate their bullshit anymore. WE all need to come down on them hard on the boards whenever they post non-sense. Put them in their place. Call them out on their crap. Don't roll over for them and play nice. They have proven they don't deserve that.

as an Aatrox player myself, at the end of the day riot is a company trying to make MONEY, and Aatrox is not popular and will not be popular because of how gutted he was, and don't wish to change anything to him until he is reworked, or he randomly is played up the ass and sells a bunch of skins... which the last one is not very likely. There is a reason champs like Lucian Ahri Jinx Zed Ezreal LeeSin etc. are popular, they have things that make them do lots of damage and survive, while feeling like an lc$ Pro, and Aatrox is currently a right click machine with bad stats and no real items aside from a few to compliment him. He does need a change, but i still think just lowering CD's could do a lot minus ult which is fine. favoritism is there because it is what sells, why sell an Urgot 975 skin to 500 players when they can make a silly 750 Ahri skin and sell 1 million+

You act like Aatrox was gutted when all riot did was 4 patches to him and they never bothered giving him a chance like fucking ryze

I just laid out how sub par he is compared to 2 other auto attack based top laners. I'm not sure what your point is. He's been in this state for 2 years.

He wasn't pure shit at release and someone won an lcs game with manamune on him

now you see, that is a valid argument, but Ryze was riots first poster boy...

That is part of their problem. They are operating under a business strategy that believes there is only one way to make money--and that strategy puts champion and game balance second to activity that makes money. Which means that the came is always in an artistically compromised state.

and artistic compromise is a new thing, fucking hell, renaissance art for example, painters only made money off SPECIFIC styles, and things that deviated from it, even popular artists in history, had no income and couldn't sell their work.

Art is a medium that is not required by anyone, but in order to sell, you need to create things that appeal to people, whatever the thing is if you want to eat and sleep with a roof over your head.

Aatrox has a lot of issues when he's strong or even just viable: if he gets too much base tankyness he's unkillable by both sustained and burst damage thanks to his tankyness and sustain which will enable him to build one less tank item for more damage oriented ones making him a tank-drain tank-melee carry, on the other hand if he gets too much base damage he's just going to build full tank and abuse his base damages so he will again just become a tank-drain tank-melee carry, that's why his kit sucks. I'm not too sura but I seem to remember about a time when Aatrox build one damage item into tank (or was it full tank?) and he could still do almost carry level damage with w, which also provided him drain tank level sustain, and you could also throw a GA which procs before your passive so you had to kill a full-stacked bloodwell Aatrox twice before taking his passive and having to kill him a third time and like I said: he was as tanky as a full tank with almost carry-level damage and drain tank level sustain, meaning that you already had to dumpster everything on him and burts him down to kill him once, then he came back and would just kill two of you straight out of ga since your cd's were up and if you killed him again because he couldn't take all the carries: surprise, he's back again to take the last carry, and no bruiser nor tank nor assassin could fight him...

On another note: isn't tryndamere still overnerfed? I don't remember riot actually directly buffing him.

Edit: Also riot has already started to rework old champs and he's probably on the list, so it's not like riot is just giving up on old champs, they just need time. I do agree they could allocate a bit more resources on the champ up team rather than on the new champ team, but theyr surveys says that most players think otherwise.

Yeah? Which survey? I think more people are upset at Riot not fixing champions they have then for no releasing new champions that they can't possibly be upset at missing because they don't yet exist.

Valexfor1 votes

Apparently they send surveys to people asking about these things. I personally never noticed it so I don't know if I did receive any since I don't really control that much, but they said it in another post asking for them to move one pod from new champ to champ up (right now they are 3/2 new champ/champ up I think I read in that post) and they said that from the surveys they sent out, there was a highe % of people wanting more champs than champ updates. I don't think it was too old as a post, maybe I can find in in my history, if i do I will edit this post.

Edit: here's the link I think it's somewhere in this post, use the rioter rundown function and you will find it
