Trundle Nerfs? (Is Riot trolling us?)

Trundle.....fricking trundle!

You guys have so many more rampant outlying overpowered champions running around in the game but the moment somebody starts countering your enforced meta and dumb masteries you nerf him?

As a trundle player and fan of the champ I have to say that his being a tank while killing tanks is what he is known for and the fact that Riot is nerfing him with no context at the moment annoys me greatly.

Lux is still strong Yasuo and most certainlyT champions are still pricks to fight against in lane. And half the items in game are either useless or overpowered

And yet someone at Riot finds the time to say "Which mains can we piss off next since we just said screw solo mordekaiser?"

I'd very much like an explanation as why Trundle is getting nerfed? Is he strong...so is anyone when the meta and items favour him ..so change the meta/items not nerf him like you did to sejuani back in the cinder hulk days.

hopefully someone throws a pillar in front of these PBE changes and slows them down enough so that the people in charge can rethink them.

I didn't know he can kill tank, does that mean he can kill Nasus? If so I'm playing him cause i hate that dog.

Trundle would take a giant shit on Nasus I'm sure. Reducing his AD so his SS doesn't heal for as much, and stealing a lot of his life. also you can bully Nasus early.

Trundle has a 56% win ratio in both normals and ranked. He's recieving a few light mana cost increases (His pillar is going up 15 mana, his ult is going up 25 mana) and his ult CD is going up 30/20/10 seconds. Considering that his ult is one of the single most powerful dueling abilities in the game, and considering that he basically feels manaless right now, AND considering he's doing extremely well across all elos, I think this is pretty rational.

In terms of Lux, yes she's strong, but she's been pretty much the same strength for a long, long time. Her ability to delete targets with her burst combo remains the same, thunderlord's and deathfire are nice on her, but no more so than any other mid lane champ. Lux has always just been a good, well rounded pick. Yasuo is annoying, whether he's OP, I think it's too soon to tell. He's definitely dropped like a rock in win rate and popularity, so I can see why he's not being touched again this patch. CertainlyT Champions can be annoying to fight, this has nothing to do with trundle and/or their relative strength in lane. Saying that half of the items in game are Useless or OP is just hyperbole without a solid backing. Yes, rageblade is probably still too broken, and yes, Essencre reaver may be as well, and yes, some of the AP itemization may be a bit out of line due to recent changes. But for the most part, it's all very playable and not terribly different. If you're really a trundle main, a light mana cost increase and CD increase on his ult shouldn't wreck you.

In most cases, riot doesn't give context before they push out changes, especially small scale ones like this, they give context afterwards. You could've made a post asking for context, but I can almost garuntee the response you get is something to the effect of "he's performing well and is ungated by mana costs, the cooldown on his ult was too low for how powerful the spell is".

Thanks for the detailed response. It just annoys me that he suddenly has a priority to be nerfed just like the swain and Karthus nerfs. Where did they come from and why is Riot worried about them? Its not like these people are always banned or are wrecking the games like Jax currently is.
