ranking + matchmaking

i was playing ranked for the first time in a while now. and after this match im still really turned off from ranked games BECAUSE OF THIS.

my team
morgana S1 annie G3 diana G2 maokai G3 vayne G4

their team kassadin P5 tristana G4 malphite G3 elise G3 wukong G3

my team won, we had a great lead and we were just strong at all stages and worked well together, but in the end the people that were all placed together, couldn't have been further apart in rank. (silver 1 to plat 5??? aint that a stretch)

i get that "who you get grouped with" is based on MMR and not rank, but whats the point of having 2 systems when MMR is supposed to make fair games.

in this instance it didn't create a balanced game, we were clearly the better players and destroyed them. but whats with the variation in ranks? why was i grouped with "higher ranked" players?

in the end it clearly doesn't matter what their rankings were, but because i have to play my PROMOTIONAL MATCHES against "evenly skilled players" JUST TO GET TO GOLD 5. when in reality gold 5 players are probably not as skilled players as these G3 (my team) ~ G2( their team) averaged teams were.

sooooooooo riot, when will promotional matches become non existent and when will i be ranked according to my skill/play level?
