Why is the adc role treated in such a cruel manor?

As a former adc main I don't understand why Riot have treated the adc class in such a cruel manner. I feel as if tanks have been receiving all the love lately due to how strong they are. Throughout season six tanks have constantly been know as the most overpowered class while adc's have limited options to deal with them. Due to the assassin update a lot of adc armor penetration builds no longer work due to the item changes leaving the adc mains that are up against three tanks on the enemy team less options. On the other hand tanks have yet another weapon added to their arsenal, courage of the colossus which is without question overpowered that allows them to survive even longer giving them a MASSIVE shield that simply feels unfair. I have been in countless amounts of games where a tank builds no damage items yet still does the most damage in the game. My point is tanks are receiving loads of love despite them already being extremely powerful while adc's struggle to deal with the assassin and tank meta. My hope is that Riot realizes this problem and buffs the adc class as a whole in some way shape or form because I feel as if the adc class is the weakest of them all and it makes me sad having to switching roles just so I can climb the ladder faster. Perhaps if Riot introduces new adc items geared toward destroying tanks, buffing their items, or lower the cost of their items would help adc have more of an impact in the game.

I agree with you that ADCs just saw a massive spike in difficulty with the prevalence of assassins and divers in this meta. I've yet to see what that means for the ADCs I'm good at, since I've just been trying to get S ranks on champs I haven't played much. :P (Note: Divers feel great to play, mages are amazing since they burst assassins and adcs, healers feel weak, and tanks are solid. I've been playing everything this preseason. Except assassins. I don't own any.)

First of all, the armor pen builds were actually terrible vs tanks, second there are quite a few items you can choose from to deal with tanks (IE banshees veil, edge of night, last whisper, black cleaver, BoTRK, QSS) adcs like twitch and vayne go insane after their 4th item and near impossible for tanks to deal with, lucian, ez and are incredibly difficult to hit with their mobility, jinx and ashe are monsters when it comes to kiting, plus decent peel will usually result better for an adc, atm most adcs WONT build a defensive item thinking they need to go full dmg, not realizing their causing their own demise is being caused due to this, in all honesty tanks are kinda lacking when it comes to this due to their usually slow movement speeds and lack of true mobility (most tanks require a condition to active their mobility), while tanks are really good right now and COC is overpowered (getting nerfed next patch though) i wouldnt say adcs are being treated cruely as the have a massive arsenal of items to pick from compared to the limited pool of tank items (legit theres nearly 3x as many ad items as their is tank items) we do not need more items to pick from to destroy tanks as it would simply make them obsolete with what we already have

  1. everybody wants to play something that kills
  2. this requires other champion to be defined as champion that dies.
  3. if you are playing a champion that is on the menu of other champions often you pick something else.
  4. conclusion: no champion (group) that can be replaced can be made into food, by design (as opposed to by the enemy got fed and is snowballing), for other, common champions.
  5. food champions are needed for the enjoyment of the players.
  6. adcs cannot be replaced
  7. adcs can be used as food champion at no consequence.
  8. conclusion: for the enjoyment of 3 solo lanes and also the supports, ADCs must die to everything.

Vayne, Cait, Jinx, Jhin, Lucian and Ez are 6/11 most popular champs in the game. Yasuo, Lee, Morgana, Lux and Thresh are the rest...

ADCs are the strongest DPS champions in the game, who get the benefit of range and damage at the cost of being squishy.

ADCs are important and need people to peel for them because they don't build defenses. If your team isn't peeling the Tryndamere, Yi, Irelia, etc off you, there's nothing you can do about it as an ADC.

I understand adc's are glass cannons that require peel from their team and I agree with a lot of the points people made in favor of tanks. Tanks are meant to soak up damage while initiating a fight. Perhaps adc's have a lot of items to choose from however there are a limited amount of armor penetration items available to them [Lord Dominiks Regard, Mortal Reminder, Edge of Night, The Black Cleaver, and Ghostblade (which lost its attack speed effect)] and Dustblade isn't as useful to adc's now due to the changed passive. These items are often not effective enough to deal with tanks, not to mention how expensive adc items are opposed to tank items. Just to clarify to some people who think the armor penetration builds were terrible on adc's, they were actually effective enough to deal a respectable amount of damage to tanks while dealing enough damage to face other roles. For starters the Armor penetration build was more dominate on Jhin opposed to his crit build. My point is that people are abusing the fact that tanks are the dominate class at the moment and the assassin reworks gives them yet another advantage (since they can't be bursted down) while crippling the options adc have in a game. Adc's have a lot more to worry about opposed to all the other roles due to how limited their options are which should not be an existing problem in league of legends. I respect your opinion if you think tanks are not the most dominate class in the game however I want you to take my argument in consideration and not be bias due to whatever role you may play. Thank you.
