Why is riot so against early jungle aggression. I know they're trying to make it so you get really low on health from just the first clear.

When junglers can gank early, it forces lanes to play safe, which reduces early action for televised events. By removing the fear of a jungle gank, they get strategies like rushing to level 2 and then attacking your lane opponent instead of last-hit farming close enough to run to your tower if the enemy jungler makes an appearance.

I dislike the new jungle. It promotes the junglers which are already God_tier (Lee Sin...) so even higher ranks, while junglers like Hecarim or Sejuani have become close to unplayable on PBE. The balancing is horrible limits the champion variety, destroying the only viable position that champions like Sejuani or Hecarim had left.

Not to mention that killing a jungler early on completely takes him out of the game. Unless they somehow give CV a 15s cooldown to check every good damn bush for stacked Shaco boxes the new jungle will be hell. Fall behind early - I dare you think about participating in the game for the next 20 minutes...

Really, I find that Hecarim is extremely good in the new jungle since he has good sustain and great camp clearing speed so that he can gank possibly the earliest of any jungler. Sejuani, unfortunately, I am finding to be hard to place in the jungle.

Because Lee Sin stifled so much jungle diversity by his uncanny ability to be able to rapidly clear the jungle, and then quickly position himself in the enemy red or blue camp, and then kill them. Shaco had the same issue. From what I've seen, Riot's way of remedying that is turning Lee Sin into a carry (we'll see about that, because of course they're going to listen to Lee's fanbase of freelo whiners). Of course, this raises the issue of Nunu and Warwick, both who have ridiculous jungle sustain, and from what I hear Nunu is already shaping up to be the jungle god of Season V.

TL;DR, They're trying to harbor jungle diversity by forcing carry junglers to make a sustain tradeoff for strong ganks. If it goes right, we might see more tank junglers, if it goes wrong, we might be seeing a whole lot of Nunu and Warwick, and possibly, yes still, Lee Sin.

From my experience, most tank junglers(ex. Nautilus) exist for ganking and not to farm. If they're making it so early game junglers are weaker, then tank junglers will also be weaker as well with the exception of nunu.

Have you tried nautilus in PBE?

They absolutely demolished every last bit that was left of the poor astronaut.

Riot doesn't actually know how to fix anything. The game would be roughly a billion times better if the jungle simply didn't exist.

They aren't against early ganking. It's just champions that can do so have been swapped around. Aatrox is now gonna be an extremely aggressive early ganker, Warwick will become extremely good at early ganking, Nunu will be really good at clearing the jungle but Im not entirely sure about his ganking (Ive never played him), and maybe Rengar will be great early gankers due to their ability to get through the jungle with optimal ganking health due to abilities and passives. Lee Sin is kind of in a vague area to me since he has the shield with a good amount of lifesteal and spell vamp, but Im not sure if that qualifies as enough sustain. Really, the jungle has been divided into four (five) classes from the way I see it:

Early Ganking Junglers (Levels 2-6) Rammus Aatrox Warwick Jax MasterYi Rengar Volibear Fiddlesticks Hecarim Gragas Shaco Camp Clearing Junglers Chogath Diana MonkeyKing Volibear Amumu Trundle Sion Hecarim MasterYi Jax Sejuani Invading Junglers Shaco DrMundo Skarner Udyr Counter Junglers Olaf MonkeyKing Pantheon Trundle Overall Junglers LeeSin Evelynn Elise Khazix Shyvana Udyr

Early ganking junglers do exactly what their name says and can do so due to a sustain advantage, extreme tank stats, and/or decent mobility. Camp clearing junglers clear the jungle so extremely well that they can efficiently use the jungle to farm up for items, throwing some ganks in here and there to support their team. Invading junglers are junglers that can effectively kill monsters in the enemy jungle extremely quickly and be able to escape if they are caught. Counter junglers are junglers that go into the enemy jungle less to farm and more to kill the enemy jungler in order to make them behind, being able to do this through a distinct early game advantage. Overall junglers are the usual top dogs that can be decent at all of the above and will usually be seen the most due their diversity.
