I was just thinking maybe Shock blade Zed could've been his alternate self had he not been corrupted by the shadow box. Reason is because the shock-blade skin is lightening themed just like Kennen. Kennen's title is the Heart of the Tempest and his job is to convey the justice of the Kinkou. Zed was able to amass an entire army of shadow warriors to promote his cause so wouldn't he have good enough people skills to convey messages to other people cause that is what conveying is. Maybe had Zed not taken the path he took he would have been part of the 3 man ninja team and become the Heart of the Tempest.

yes I believe it was confirmed by a rioter in a QnA that shockblade zed and arc light syndra represented the path to balance rather than destruction. Kennen took zeds place in a sense thats why zed thinks kennen is a disgrace. I'm a huge lore nerd lol.

That does actually make a lot of sense since Kennen came from Bandle city,meaning that the kinkou lacked a candidate for the heart of the tempest themselves.

I think you have missed the main part :D Zed didn't want to be the Heart of the Tempest, he was about to replace Shen and become The Eye of Twilight, that's one of the main reasons he destroyed that box and consumed Shadows to defeat Shen and conquer his throne.

that's the skin people relate to nocturns base splash art, i wouldn't say he became the heart of the tempest since that's kennens shtick, however the fact that kennen could learn to harness lighting through his energy its possible zed was also taught this but used them in a different way. it's also probable that with the reference shen found a way to remove the hate and shadow in zed creating nocturn, and zed realizing hes a douche took that lighting technique and used it to mimic the shadow style. could work in the new lore to since noct is one of the few champs that was entirely based in the previous lore, him fiddle and lee sin. who knows my 2 cents and theory still tho regardless i agree shockblade zed is "good" zed.
