Need a Yasuo main (Dia+) to teach how to lane vs Yasuo
Hi, I'm a Diamond 4 wukong main who plays really anything but I try to go for wukong in ranked because he's my most comfortable pick since season 3. I have hated Yasuo since shortly after his release because my experience with him has always been this: Yasuo reaches level 2, Yasuo hard engages on you, you can't escape because he dashes through your wave, if you're lucky you're a 1/4 health, if you're unlucky you're dead. The rest of the laning phase I sit under the turret while yasuo freezes the lane and takes out half my health in 1 second before he leaves turret range again.
I'm just sick of hating this champion so much. I want advise, not just for Wukong but as any toplaner because I only face yasuo when I blind pick as he's my permaban champ and will likely remain so unless I learn a way to deal with him.
My main questions are:
- How do I deal with him at lvl 1-3? Even if I reach lvl 2 first, if I engage on him, he barely takes damage because of his shield. "just proc it with an AA" they say, but when you do that, he simply answers with an AA Q and possibly more as he knows he still has a shield. Once he reaches lvl 2 he seems to outdamage me on any champ I play that isn't Renekton.
- When are Yasuo's powerspikes? When is he stronger than other melee toplaners? Originally I thought of him as a lategame carry, but it's obvious to me now that his level 2 is one of the best. I feel like he's weaker in the midgame, but not sure when exactly. I sometimes have been safefarming for so long after being forced to back early until I finally decide to risk a trade with him and find myself winning it easily. (Seriously, I never dare to trade because if you don't win the trade, you're probably dead because of his stickiness).
- IF you die against him on level 2. What do you do to prevent getting completely wrecked? How do you prevent more deaths other than staying under the turret? Even when doing so, he easily pokes you as you try to get to the caster minions and can dive you for a quick trade as he dashes out again taking only 1 turret shot while your trading damage is soaked by his passive. Even when I rush Chain Vest, he pokes me out of lane in a few waves time.
- Is it worth trying to dodge his Q1 and Q2? How realistic is this? A yasuo ingame told me to try it, but it's the fastest skillshot ability in the game (I tried to compare it to any other but I couldn't find one that is equally fast) so you have to guess where he will strike and hope your hitbox moves fast enough which I don't think is possible before you have boots.
Any other tips?
If someone from EUW (pref lvl 5+ yasuo) would like to skirmish to help me improve against Yasuo early game, that would also be appreciated.
