Why are there no positive comments about the matchmaker over the last year?

Seems like 95% of all threads regarding matchmaking is directed against an abnormal amount of feeders per game, and teammates being queued together at experience levels that are nowhere close together. This was a noticeably abrupt, lower quality turn since season 8. If this isn't true why aren't there more threads regarding Riot's brilliant matchmaking strategy?

are you familiar with the two concepts of:

negativity bias echo chamber

Subdue12/15/2019, 7:02:11 PM4 votes

People are far more vocal when they don't like something than when they do.

Negative confirmation bias. People need to find anything to blame gor their own failures as log as it isn't themselves

ZephyrDrake12/15/2019, 7:02:31 PM3 votes

because if you lose it's 100% the matchmaking's fault and never your fault. It's always your allies fault or the enemies fault, or the client's fault or the granny that lives down the street's fault. You are never to blame, ever.

Because no one wants to admit it's their fault when they're failing.

Beyond that, some have legitimate gripes, though not generally the ones that involve "I belong in ____"

As far as the positive, why comment if you think such a basic function works fine?

Its because MMing is REALLY bad in this game. Riot knows this and to them they gain from value from it.

I mean I am pretty vocal about the benefits of skill biased MM and you know that.

I also made a few threads to try and get Riot to share more information on the mechanics behind Positional MM which feels like it made significant changes but as I was not whining or giving people excuses it was not able to gain any traction.

You get mad at me for point out how Systems like this simply don't consider gameplay experience. Not a lot I can do to help some one who refuses to learn the mechanics behind a system as they whine about it.

https://imgur.com/a/OPbNDft ^ Your welcome to take a look for a Gameplay or Fun factor variable if you want. This is from the most common Skill rating system.

I can anticipate the response people are gonna give me, its some bullshit variation of "Kai you dummy its a big black box! We can't know what Rito does!"

But. Team Elo was the name of Riots first rating system, literally the company claim was hey we use a modified Elo system for team play. Then theres The FAQ for current MMR explains how Ratings are generated off wins and losses, and how that impacts ladder position. Gee goly gosh! Thats entirely in line with Elo and standard MMR principles. Also The single most common MMR system Microsoft trueskill and when player uncertainty is even then " have the same uncertainty, the TrueSkill ranking system’s mean skill update equation** reduces to an ELO update equation**"

But hey folks gonna say Riot might just be lieing and that this is all just conjecture and ignore the most basic burden of proof behaviors all because They don't like the rank they earn.

obvious thing first: people will always speak louder about stuff they dislike.

the other obvious thing: take a wild fucking guess why. half the posts about the matchmaking i saw is of ppl asking why they are matched together with ppl whom they cant duoq with cause the system says "fuck you your rank difference is too big"
