So i just saw the lates Riot Pls Update. It addresses a lot of issues but I think there is a huge problem, which is the forced role. To put it simple that is when a champion is forced and locked in a specific role (Top,Jungle,Mid,Adc,Support).

Riot have talked about opening other roles for different champions, but it has been a long time without them giving an update to this issue. Its very bad when you want to play champions that are not ment for your role. For example I play mid lane only, unless im autofilled, which is very rarely and i dodge most of the time when that happens, and I play champions that is not ment for mid lane. I love playing Xayah, Evelynn, Irelia but the problem is that those are a ADC, Jungler and Top laner. And if i pick these champions in mid , I get flamed regardless if we win or lose. When something goes wrong in the game, Im the one that gets the blame for it. For example i played Xayah vs Taliyah in the mid lane and at level 6 she roamed bot with her ult, which I cant follow even if i was playing a mid lane champion. So i pinged untill i couldnt ping anymore but the bot lane still flamed me for it. But the worst one was when i picked Evelynn mid lane, I got flamed so hard in champ select. Stuff like wishing c*ncer to my family and such. Even with the new Irelia, when i took her in the mid lane people still flamed me because we were full AD and i was like "Say no more fam" and went full AP bcause the new Irelia has AP scaling AP rations on her W, E and R. But even then i was flamed even tho i was 1shotting people with my ult. This does not happen only to me. I had a game where the jungler picked Tristana and everyone was going hard on her.

Point is that it feels very abd when champions are locked in certain roles and you have to learn a new role when you have no desire to do so. I have played all roles because autofill is a thing and sometimes you cant dodge. Top lane feels like you are playing a different game. When playing jungle , all i do is ask myself hwo the ontehr jungler has more farm than me. And bot lane is uninteresting because you have to depend on another player. Now im not saying that these roles suck or anything. I just cant play them and i dont enjoy them. So my question is, why am i forced out of my role because i want to play a specific champion ?

Can this issue be fixed with items ? Like you build different items depending on the role you play ? I just find it frustrating.

i remember when i played irelia ap mid, i won lane and top was 3/7, so was botlane and on end of the game i saw on all chat "report irelia troll lost game" xD we just have to accept some people are retarded and like I HAVE TO WIN EVERY NORMAL GAME !!1!!11 and just report them

Irelia can mid, and even go AP as Step Sis Lux said if needs be. I've also seen people do well with Eve mid (though thats STILL a bit of a mystery to me). You have to remember you'll be up against people who are far less competent at league. This means if you are playing someone like Irelia mid, and you can clear the wave, then when laning phase ends or you get the chance to roam you'er going to be in your element.

I see your point though and it was my first thought when I realized I might end up in a lower bracket as support with Malzahar. Now imagine I played someone who was still a viable support, and got auto-filled there. Say I was a Diamond 1 Brand main, but never played as support secondary because I also can play kha'zix in jungle. Now suddenly I'm in support of a gold/silver adc on a champion I main as in diamond. Yes the position has changed but lets face it I'm gunna get fed as fuck and steamroll that game. Now lets say I do what most people do when they get auto-filled and ask to swap lane. I tell them I'm a diamond 1 brand mid main and ofc they check me out and trade happily... Now we win even easier and I also get bonus LP for playing in an "off-position" and my entire team are just happy for the free win.

Riot really need to reconsider this, or think of ways to combat it.

I agree it's partially due to riot making items in mind as such; but more from the society being sheep since season two, when riot posted about which team composition was most universally victorious. The mid-season update is going to have to change quite a bit if they've any hope of breaking this traditional thinking.
