Am I the only one annoyed by Ryze "jumping" animation when casting spells?

When it's early game it's ok, because he doesn't cast spells so quickly, so single jump here and sudden movement there is ok, but in late game, when he has some cdr and his spells cd resets and he's casting them very quickly one after another he's animations are a mess. Jumping around, swinging his arms etc. Why are they like this? He's experienced mage, shouldn't he be more stoic while casting spells?

He tried that and got really bored of doing it so he tried the jumping method with decent success. Plus it makes him feel young again.

He doesn't actually "jump" to my knowledge, just that his arms flay all over the place during his spell spamming.

I think it's funny tho. Personally I don't have issues with it. I mean, maybe he is an archmage because his arms can go that fast while also being precise on the hand seals or whatever, who knows.

I also really like his running animation, one that he actually walks and runs like a real human being, but also because he is one of the few champions whose 'homeguard' animation doesn't make them look like having a seizure while sliding across the map very fast. He actually has a speed-"hop" animation for that, which I think is cool.

He jumps in E and crouch in Q animation, which are the most spamable abilities resultin in strange animations. http://www.lolking.net/models?champion=13&skin=0 It started to annoy me recently, when I started playing him, it seems out of character

Have always thought he was doing a big angry stomp during E rather than a small leap, especially given the top-down angle of the camera.

But really, you really won't be noticing much of his animation if you play him seriously anyway. The reason for that is because he has too much to manage at any given moment in general, and his combo is done in a flash (if you're good, you can rotate 4-5 buttons in an instant of catching the enemy in range; but that's after mid-game, in early game his mana costs like a truck hitting you every time you cast spells, and do little to no damage along with his AA so you have to last hit with a microscope and undivided attention early) so it's not like you will see much anyway; typically you will just notice that his arms go into a blur while spamming attacks, which can be quite funny as a stress reliever for his admittedly very stressing kit. It's like he goes "Buddha" with like 100 after-images of their arms or whatnot whenever he attacks.

Personally, I don't find his animation to be nearly as much of an eye sore as you would find it. But then again, I just have a different personal outlook/feels of like and dislike regarding the exact same subject, and yours is equally as valid as mine in this.

Yeah, of course in teamfights or when fighting someone I don't really see them as I don't pay attention to animations then but a fight itself, but when I clear minions it can be annoying to look at. It doesn't seem realistic, like something tha a mage would do to ccast spells, but I know I'm looking for logic in fantasy game.

If it helps, just pretend that Ryze casts spells like Ninja in Naruto with their "hand seals".

If you're not familiar with it, basically to go into the absolute nutshell regarding the "hand seals" mechanism: In the series Naruto, there is a table of hand-signs that when chained in sequence, allows the individuals to manipulate their inner energy and form supernatural abilities from their body. In Naruto, while mastery itself allows individuals to cast strong and complex attacks with few or even no hand-seals, but weak individuals can still have access to it if they can compensate by chaining long sequences of hand-seals, sometimes multiple people doing different part of it if the technique is that complex. Strong people may still use hand-seals even if they can ignore it, because it supposedly allows them to use abilities more efficiently or something (so like doing hand-seals makes the spell cost less mana or something idk).

What I'm trying to get to is that, just pretend Ryze is using precise hand motions as either signals or attuning gestures for his mana, in order to cast spells. Hence why his arms goes into a storm whenever he cast spells. We can pretend that each Q, W, or E constitutes a simple sign and a simple technique, but chaining them correctly will create complex attacks, much like Ryze's complex table of different combo patterns.

And that his true mastery allows him to warp space to teleport with his R, seemingly with only 1 hand-sign. But the drawback is that it needs a time to charge up.

Something like that, if you have to rationalise how his lore and gameplay interacts with each other.

Yeah, I'm familiar with Naruto series. Maybe I will think of it like that, thanks :)
