Evelynn

After playing with evelynn, I am getting the impression she has been nerfed and redesigned to the point she is underpowered. How so?

  1. Comparing demon shade to garrens perseverance. Perseverance heals garren over time, regardless of his current health. Because evelynn's demon shade stops healing at such a low point of health, its really only useful for jungling, and sucks in laning. As a jungle gimmick, it is forced, because evelynn does fairly low damage, and has fairly bad defenses.

  2. Evelynn is slow, too easily revealed, and has no real escape outside of her ult. Compare and contrast to pyke and shaco. Pyke gets a movement speed boost when he stealths, and shaco can literally teleport. Even teemo gets a speed boost. It can be argued that evelynn's perma stealth really does deserve no escape, because she shouldn't get involved in fights she can't win, but this just leads to an evelynn that consistently stays out of teamfights, and does not contribute to team, out of fear of feeding the enemy team.

  3. Evelynn is squishy. She is so squishy, that if the enemy team can engage her, she is screwed. Winning fights 1v1 against almost any other champ involves needing the enemy champ to be wounded. At that point, see point 2. An evelynn that consistently avoids pvp and farms jungle, just to avoid feeding.

  4. Last and worst, evelynn does not do meaningful damage. Heart spike is just not cutting it as a damage dealing ability. Whiplash does not have the range needed, and it doesn't do enough damage.

So, if I am right? Could I be right? Or am I just a noob playing evelynn wrong? Should I quit building ap and build ad on her instead? Seriously what? Or, is rito just bad at balancing evelynn? If I am indeed right, I think the following changes are warranted:

  1. Throw heart spike in the trash. Get rid of it entirely. Replace it with a single target attack that deals a high damage upfront. Preferably a ranged attack, so that evelynn's super squishy frame doesn't take high damage.
  2. Do something about her W. Allure doesn't do damage to enemy champions. Allure should deal a small amount of DoT, last 5 seconds, and if hit by evelynn, cause damage, and cause charm.
  3. Evelynn's E needs a redesign. Specifically, it needs to be something that can be used defensively to allow her to break LoS. A dash that deals damage to enemies on the way or even a teleport would be nice.
  4. Demon shade should heal no matter how much health evelynn has. I could see toning it back to garren healing levels to compensate for this, but relegating it to a jungle tool to not be used in laning is wrong.
  5. Evelynn needs a smaller reveal radius when she is below 50% health, so she can have an easier time of slipping away.
  6. Evelynn's ult needs to heal her for all damage, done, and immediately put her in undetectable stealth for 5 seconds. In addition, it should be usable, even when cc'd.

Underpowered? Buddy, she has been flopping back and forth between A tier and S tier all season. You just suck at playing her

Evelynn had 70 damage removed from her kit along side rune nerfs she is weaker.. but shes still balanced as a champion now aside from the whole Camoflage changes that also had hit her if you knew how to use her properly let alone any camoflage champion did also hit her. Tho aside from all of that... Evelynn doesnt need anything aside from some more movement speed to get onto targets,

things id like to see riot do to buff her indirectly.. Give us a jungler assassin item that has movement speed on it as well.. to give her back the movement speed that had been lost on Runic echos. buff her base movement speed a little bit and then she would be fine .. or even maybe make it to where if she fully charges her W on a target she will gain a small burst of movement speed torwards that target
