So, Soraka is losing her "spidey sense"

I just realized there is a hidden gameplay nerf incoming for her rework. Q is now a skill shot of some kind that's not a hidden nerf since they are being explicit about it. However there is a part of the Q functionality that is going away: her danger sense.

As it stands now, if there's an enemy hidden in an unwarded bush, or a certain smug little monster Teemo hiding in the lane, Soraka's Q goes from passive and unusable to active. While this isn't a huge issue, if you are paying attention to the state of Q as it stands and if there is an obvious lack presence of nearby enemies, you'd at least have a chance to react before they pounced. Or revealed the teemo. So basically Teemo is now losing one of the few soft counters.

Now, why is this bad for Soraka? Well unless she's getting a kiting tool, she's still this immobile sloth who now can't self heal either. In League of Gapclosers that isn't a good thing. Especially when everyone else is on boots 2 and you are still on basic boots. That early warning system helps keep her from dying and gives her a half second to react.

Now you could burn a flash if you have to, and you didn't use it already, but she's still slow and someone on the other team will still have a flash as well. And a gap closer. And soraka won't have a self-heal ability after the rework.

Is this a huge hidden nerf? Not really. But it does make the game just a little more unsafe for her? Yes and that may or may not be fair since we can't see the whole rework yet.

Does a champ with a 43% win rate, a discouragement to build life after the rework, and no escape need that little bit of extra safety measure? You tell me.

hmmmm....

tell you what. You get to choose buff....or nerf. But for every buff given lucian...teemo gets buffed by a greater amount.

How much you want lucian buffed now? :3

Please, wait for the rework to come out before shaying some parts have been nerfed because we don't even know. She may not need the "spidey sense" anymore.

Hope doesn't come to morg's R, a very helpful ace check tool, whislt still being very safe.

No one even plays soraka so this game change element is not even a nerf because the rework will make her viable again.

I use to play soraka all the time until they added a mana cost to her E and lowered her Q's damage.

People played her until riot nerfed her. Back when you could play her, this ability was one of her skills you learned for her.

The rework isn't giving her any mobility as far as I know and vesh is on record as saying you can't self heal with your W anymore. He also said that building health will raise the health cost you pay for W to keep people from building tanky. Unlike other most healers in the game, she'll have no mobility, no reliable self heal, nor any CC.

Kayle? Has a speed boost, a slow, and can self heal. And invulnerability. Sona? Has a speed boost, an AoE stun, and can self heal. Nidalee? Has a speed boost and can self heal. She can also put traps in bushes. Nami? Speed passive, 2 CCs, and can self heal.

The radius of Starcall is only 530.

The "danger sense" is nice when you're chasing someone through brush that's 100% screwed, but it's not particularly useful for actually avoiding danger in the first place. 530 range is plenty short for most stealth champions to do there thing. I mean - if walls were actually thin enough that 530 turned into an effective ~1,500 it's nice, but most walls are just to thick, and reaching over them requires both Raka and her stalker to be fondling the wall.

Any skillshot that makes a sound effect on collision offers a similar sense from a safe enough distance to actually matter, not to mention a fair deal of skills grant vision when used as well - also offering a better level of the same utility. If Starcall turns into a skillshot with better range, there's a real chance Raka's vision power will actually improve.

What do you mean soraka can't self heal anymore? Wouldn't that defeat the whole purpose of the new top Raka buff from a few patches ago. That is kinda stupid. Just leave Raka alone seriously she's fine. If they rework cool make her look more bad ass or actually human like. It's really just annoying really. Well if they do rework and nerf they should at least try to buff her movement speed, she's a goat ffs. Goats are a bit speedy. e.e Rito what are you doing to my support champs????!!!!!!!!!

In Vesh's rework thread he talks about her W only being able to target other allies. I believe the Q will have something to keep her heals going, but I'm not sure how that's going to work out.

If that somehow lasts, the whole health costs won't. Simply put, every single champion in game has a way to self heal/sustain if they have Health costs, the heavier the cost the more accessible the heal/sustain. Look at Flubber, Hulk, and Putin. Morde is kinda the exception, except he gets a MASSIVE sheild and arguably the best teamfight ult in the game.

I would gladly trade Soraka's spidey senses for a coherent and satisfying to use kit.

If anything this just shows how much dumb hidden power was forcing Soraka into "Nerf Bat Central." She had all sorts of little nonsensical things like that that neither fit her role nor her theme and were just exploited to wring every last bit of use out of her, which in turn brought about her downfall.
